Rain, Storms and Rex and Kristilyn

The rain that has been snipping and snarling at us finally got here with a vengeance. It upsets the dogs when they hear thunder and see lightning and Rex kept trying to get me to wake up and sit with him. Those huge paws kept raking at my back and finally I had to get up and put him in the utility room with Bouncer.

It was hard to go to sleep anyway. I had just read the most disturbing book by Martha Grimes. She has become an animal rights activist and her new book, "Dakota" is hard for an animal lover to read. It deals with cruelty to animals but particularly that on pig farms and the places where they keep pregnant mares to obtain their urine for premarin. Kristilyn, it is disturbing but you need to read it and perhaps get in touch with some of the organizations
she gives credit to in the back of the book. There just might be a job opportunity lurking in there.

After searching for a pastry blender for Bobby, I finally found two and bought both of them, yesterday. I don't know why they are such scarce items, especially the old fashioned kind with good blades.

I think I'll skip this book recommendation for a change. I've continued reading, but haven't mentioned any books for awhile.

I can't remember if I've read that one or not. I like that policeman who is such a hypochondriac.

The weather kept awakening me last night as well. I finally got up at five and stayed up. This dark, dreary day has me in a real state of depression. Can't wait for the sun to come back.

It was harrowing to read it. Not a good idea when your emotions are raw.
I am looking forward to your next painting.

I know the feeling of tstorm.Buffy wakes me up and have to
sit with him till it is over.
Do not have any intention of reading that.
Did you by any chance catch Winfrey Show about the animals
beings sort of abuse.Dozen or so chicken in a small cage.
Pigs in some sort of stalls and barely move
All of this are horrible.
Poor young calf being slaugter for veal etc.
That is one of the reason for limited meat in this house.

A good pastry blender! You are right, hard to find. Where did you find them, if you don't mind my asking?

I will read it! Thank you for the recommendation! I have soooooo many books on the backburner right now - I have started Dominion by Matthew Scully - REALLY good book I have heard, but haven't gotten too far into it. I am also reading The Secret. Sheesh!
Regardless, I will get to it. Thanks again for the recommendation! They can be soooo hard to read, but it irritates me when people say they can't read something about animal cruelty yet support that same cruelty daily with food choices... arg.

I don't think I could stand to read a book like this, especially right now. My dogs don't like the thunder either.
