I always feel guilty when I go to an estate sale knowing that
someone's cherished things are being picked over. I still
go despite the moral dilemma. There was a good one three
blocks from me this morning. I got Ted all settled with coffee, medicine and breakfast and got there early. I purchased a pretty white quilt, two lovely tablecloths and
8 napkins all for 25.00. I bid on a boudoir chair but
probably won't get it, and I am going back tomorrow to see
if a candelabra that I like is there at half price. I find
that you have to be willing to lose items you like when you
are a bargain hunter. I washed everything and it looks
really good.
I am re-reading Pride and Prejudice because it turns out
so well and I enjoy the gentle manners. I am also reading
the sixth or seventh book in Will and Ariel Durant's series.
They are witty, entertaining and informative and it makes
perfect bedtime reading because there is no rush to get to the end and stay up too late.
This got me musing on parnerships and I thought of a few.
Sonny and Cher, Burns and Allen, Laurel and Hardy, Abbot
and Costello and of course Will and Ariel Durant. I loved
"I've Got You Babe" and some of Sonny and Cher's other
good ones.
Laura's post about language got me in the mood to share a phrase
I truly hate..."I've got your back" or "He's got my back".
It is old biker talk and goes right along with baby mama
in my opinion.
