Oh Joy!

Three days of non stop celebration has been fun but I woke
up this morning determined to put away the Christmas mess and
get the tree down and put away.

Rex is traumatized. Last night when Sara's baby was here,
he couldn't get anyone to pay attention to him. He got the
paper out of the waste basket and tore it up, he found a
dish cloth and ran through the house flaunting it but no one
wanted to play. None of his cute tricks worked. The l4 month
old, Owen, was just too cute and too good natured and he got
all the attention. He is walking around and trying to talk.
There is so much to learn at that age. even if I were not
his great grandmother, I would still think he is adorable.

I had a lovely time but it is nice to be alone and to have
the house straight again. It has been chaotic in a nice way.
Ted even had to take his hearing aids out because the noise
level was so high.

One more trip to the base and I will be finished for the
day with the afternoon and evening to myself. It will be
lovely.

Wow! You get decorations down early! Sounds like you had a great holiday celebration.

Oh how I love that Rex. I am planning on taking down the tree today as well, once I am caught up on all these blog posts!

In my young and sprightly days, I loved celebrating the New Year. Now it is
just ho hum.

I took all my Christmas crap down the day after. With all the presents gone, the tree looked so forlorn so back into the box it went. Another year almost gone. sigh.

I know what you mean. I couldn't wait to box it all up until next year.

I had most of the christmas stuff in the boxes before Donna got out of bed! Really glad I downsized the tree. Benny does the same attention-seeking behavior but he does it when Buster is getting attention. They have a squeaky in the box that neither one really seems interested in, but Benny will run and get it if I spend too much time with Buster! I think they are smarter than most people give them credit for!

Dogs are much smarter than we give them credit for and cats are too. Rex
communicates his needs all the time.Their attention getting behavior just
cracks me up.

All my sympathies are with Red. He deserves cuddling and treats and play time. Tell Rex I'm in his corner.

Rex gets all the attention and one night of deprivation didn't hurt him.
That was his problem. He is used to being praised and petted.

Poor Rex.All of our Christmas thingies are gone and could care less.
I waiting for a brand New Year.It is nice to get back to reality.Though we did not have this much problem than you did. That is the nice part .Good luck and Peace.Poor Ted.I understand the noise level of his hearing aid.

Do you and Mike celebrate the New Year? I used to feel deprived if I didn't
have a party to go to. Next year, I am going to have outside lights.

That silly Rex. He has so much personality. What a good feeling to have that out of the way. Yesterday I thought about taking the tree down, but it takes about a minute, so decided it could stay a few more days because the cat likes to get attention by pretending she is going to molest it.

Rex is a clown. I like to see him make mischief. Our animals are treasures.

Our tree will stay up until the new year. DH just hates to see it go.
