Looking Forward

I am getting ready to do some Christmas Shopping tomorrow
morning. Tuesday morning has a sale on luggage that I want
for my two oldest grandaughters. Meanwhile I am thinking of
all of you enduring the last hurricane of the season. I hope
you are safe and toasty warm and it comforts me to know that
you prepare so well.

We had an uneventful Sunday. David and Nova came over and
brought the cover David had made for our attic. We are so
grateful that he has chosen to help out with things that
I can't do. He is a good brother.

We went retro in the evening and watched The Duchess and the
Dirtwater Fox for the 3rd time. Goldie Hawn has got to be
the cutest person in the world. It was such a relief not to
have to watch one of Ted's doom and gloom end of the world
movies. I don't understand the current rage for end of the
world junk or reality shows for that matter. If I want to
hang out with trashy people, I could always go to Walmart.

Our Walmart has a mix of customers -- some low-end. I rarely get there because Ed doesn't like to go, but I find the range of products very helpful. I know they don't treat their people all that well and have signed petitions to get them to shape up, but I find things there.

I hate survival movies, end of life on earth movies, and the like. I dislike anything Kevin whosits has made (Water World, the Postman or whatever that was, Dances with der Wolves), I hate reality shows, viscerally, and moreover I don't at all like the people who go on them.

I like stuff with really witty dialogue and a little romantic action, and getting even movies like Double Jeopardy where Naomi Judd is framed for the murder of her husband, who is still alive and living with her best friend.

My daughter likes to watch this show that is positively ghoulish, even when it isn't Halloween. Sometimes I just have to say "enough!"

I think it is a teen thing. Adrienne's favorite show is The Walking Dead.

Did you see that woman in the big floppy hat and sunglasses glancing around, furtively as she waited in line to pay for her ball of yarn? No? Oh, thank goodness.

Sometimes we just have to make the trip for things we can't find anywhere
else. I always hate every minute of it.

True! True! True! even if a trifle hateful.

Some of my favorite things have come from Tuesday Morning. I can remember many years ago when they'd open on a Tuesday morning maybe two or three times a year and stay open only a few weeks, then close again for several months while they gathered up more stuff.

I like it now that they are open all the time. Fortunately there is one
only a mile away from me. Now, if Dillard's would just re-open close by.

I too enjoy Armageddon type flicks, not for the "doom & gloom" but, rather, for the special effects. I enjoy the "Planet of the Apes" movies for the same reason. I hear there is a new Ape movie in the works: "Walmart Apes Replace Trashy Customers."

If it were only true! Apes don't have cell phones and they don't have
whiney children.

Trashy people at Wal-mart?

It may be different where you live but here it is the dregs of humanity.
