Winter is certainly coming too soon for me. I got up to
warmth and a threatening deep blue sky and by 8:30 it had
begun to drizzle and was cold.
Yesterday, Ted's brother, David and his wife, Nova came to
help with some winter chores. David climbed into the attic
and wrapped some pipes on the hot water heater. They stayed
for a lunch of lasagna, roasted vegetables and apple crisp
with caramel on top. We washed it down with Miller Light.
They are such good company.
I always have loads of plants on the back porch and I got
Nova to take a fern and a begonia. I can only take a few
in and I hate to let them freeze, I would rather someone
would give them a home. I will put a few in the garage
and drag them out on sunny days and they will survive until
spring in a dismal condition. It wouldn't be worth it if
didn't know that they reach their full glory as it gets
warm outside.
I spent the morning at Tinker Air Force Base, buying groceries and stocking up on wine. Then back at home in time for lunch and picking up little girls. Ashley brought
a spare with her and Rex was in heaven with two younger
children to play with. He really needs a twelve year old
boy instead of two senior citizens.
