All Hallows Eve

There were many, many wee ghosts and goblins in the neighborhood last night. Some of the smaller ones ran
screaming from my door when the witch with the green, luminous face greeted them with a bowl of candy containing
a green and bloody hand that grabbed at them as they chose
their treat.

Ted said I almost scared him. In a stroke of genius, I
applied green eye shadow to my face and it gave off a gahstly glow. My cackle was honed to perfection by the
time the last munchkin left. It was a lot of fun for us and for most of the kids and their parents.

We topped off the evening with a movie, DUSK TO DAWN
starring George Clooney and Quentin Tarrentino. By the end
of it, all had become vampires but George Clooney and one
teenager. It was a good movie as vampire movies go. It
was helped enormously by the cast.

I hope you had as much fun as we did.

I spent Halloween out on the water and will write about that in my post.

Sorry to say I had no "guests". Even had my porch light on. Nobody comes to the country.

You are right. I missed the fun a lot.

Desecrated Sunday night? Wow.

You bet. There would be so much outrage. This is the heart of the Bible
Belt.

You sound as if you thoroughly enjoyed yourself Jeri, I'm happy for you - you made such an effort and it must have been so pleasing when you had the desired effect, congratulations to you

It was a lot of fun.

We didn't go out, probably should have gone to at least a local casino to see the costumes, they all have contests with real money prizes so people make an effort. I'm sure it's a weekend-long celebration on top of the year-round excuse for acting badly here in Sin City.

I bet the costumes would have been fabulous. You should have gone and
taken pictures for us.

Halloween in these parts is Oct. 31 (today) -- The official title is "All Hallow's Eve" and All Hallow's Day is Nov. 1. How come you had yours a day early?

A lot of church people would have been furious if it had desecrated
Sunday night. They don't like the holiday anyway so it is kind of a moveable holiday and we have it always on a week night. It is considered
sinful in some parts of the Bible belt.

No fun here.No one shows up which is fine. The highway is too dangerous for these children. But they are not forgotten as the town takes care of them.
For us it was a dinner party but not spooky. But fun.Have a great day.
