Curses, Foiled Again

Ted and I had weekend plans and the weather has probably
defeated us again. We didn't get much snow here but our
destination, Miami, Ok. has had 4 to 6 inches and it is
drifting also. We really needed an outing. The winter
blahs have descinded with a huge bang.

The wind is howling and we have plenty of books and movies
to sustain us if the roads are impassible tomorrow. It is
terribly cold and Rex refuses to go outside, apparently he
is prepared to wait until his bladder if full to bursting.

I have been getting old, old movies from the library and
the latest is Cleopatra. It really isn't a very good movie
despite the cast but the spectacle is overwhelming. Elizabeth Taylor's beauty is not enhanced by her egyptian
hair do or her eye make up, She is just so beautiful, it
(her beauty) is more striking unembellished.

It makes me wonder how beautiful women cope with age. One
could get endless plastic surgeries and botox or just
relax, take minimum care and let it happen. I am reminded
of Pamela Harriman who chose the first avenue and was
beautiful until the day she died.

Your Mom's looks are a pretty good gage of how you will look at her age.

I still wear make up, but not as much as I used to do. I don't like the new 'botox' fad - I think it looks awful, when it does too often 'go wrong'. I wouldn't bother with a 'face lift', even if I could afford it. . . . . I would try a 'boob job' though . . . . . . .

I do too Jeri! In 'my head', I still feel 16 - the body says different though- never mind, at least we are here to think it

I can't get used to the old me. I look in the mirror and wonder how it
all happened.

Some of the old movies from the 1960s and 70s are so hard to watch because telling the story gets lost in gimmicky effects and bad acting and the current definition of 'beautiful.' So we have beehive hairdos on pioneer women riding in covered wagons. There are a few timeless movies (like that Little Sheba one) and a bunch of junk. I suppose it's the same with our current movies: some will stand the test of time.

Some of the old movies are timeless. This one was a bomb and not in a
good way. We didn't watch the second half.

Well, I have well-developed jowls and my eyelids have fallen so much that they are like canopies obscuring my vision. Oh well, I just take it in stride.

Well Dottie, there are other things that I want more than a face lift and I
imagine that you do too. I think we just have to be content with what
life has given us.

Being beautiful can be such a curse. Sigh....

Yes Marg. I wonder how cats keep from aging? Ask Angel.

Poor Rex -- is there no alternative?

There are good and bad plastic surgeons. Get a good one and people just say you look rested, because they can't tell. I don't think repeated procedures are a good idea. There are good and bad candidates for a face lift. It depends on your basic bone structure and chemistry. Michael Jackson was appealing as himself. As a many-surgeried phenom, he was ugly beyond belief.

I wouldn't turn a face lift down if I got a free coupon. Michael Jackson's
dimple in the chin was his worst move.

I have a natural face lift.
That movie was horrid. It was a box office bomb.I know that liz is a great actress, for this she was so amateurish in this one.

Probably she and Richard Burton were so in love that they couldn't concentrate on acting.

Oh, and staying in warm and cozy from the wind sounds just fabulous. I hope Rex changes his mind though!

I don't think I will be a plastic surgeon lady, but I guess we'll see how it goes as I age. My mom is still beautiful so I am hoping I take after her!

If your mom is still beautiful, you will be too. I get this feeling every
spring...I need to get a new hairdo or something.

I really hate to see women or men who have had one too face lifts. They look so artificial and harsh. Women who allow the aging process to take its natural course can be more more striking if they continue to care properly for their skin.

well said there. We do look striking as we get older.I know that this person is.I am a natural man.
I loved my face. That is the secret loved the faces and do the best that you can.We should have pictures of all of us in our natural state.would this be fun.Let start something.Post the pictures of all in our age bracket andlet them sort it out.If you are game,I am.

I wouldn't turn one down but I am not going to spend money on one when
I have other agendas. I just use the heck out of Olay Prox.
