Caught in a Lie

I am a news junkie and Diane Sawyer is my favorite for
national news. I enjoy looking at her and somehow she seems
trustworthy and doesn't get all excited and gloat over
tragedies like many of the others. I had just listened to
the local news and weather. Yesterday our temperature was
99..the first day under l00 for a while. You can imagine
my surprise when their reporter in Oklahoma City excitedly
said that it was l05 degrees here and the ground temperature
was l25. He cooked a steak on the dashboard of his car.
It was all for sensation and I wonder how much we can
really believe.

Yesterday, I was really bored and restless. I watched
Crazy Heart with Jeff Bridges and Robert Duvall. I enjoyed
it but had nothing to read but books written on a third
grade level and it was too hot to get out in the afternoon.

I made a lasagna and froze it to take to Tulsa Thursday and
have a frozen pineapple upside down cake and banana bread
to take so we won't have to cook. I have gobs of stuff
to take to Sara, baby things and some household items that
she doesn't have. I am also taking some groceries for her
since they aren't sensible and need peanut butter and jelly
and staple items to stock their cabinets. You can't believe
how impractical Sara and Curtis are..They haven't a clue.

The published temperature is geared to a specific location and it can easily be hotter in the middle of an urban area than in locations not close to heavy traffic. The news people like feature stuff that is bizarre. It must have been a slow news day, or they think people love this stuff.

I hope not but I suppose it's possible. Could you call the post office and ask if it's OK to mail dog hair to Canada? When did you mail it?
Today we found our neighbour's mail in our mailbox.....again. I don't think those postal people deserve a raise.

We're celebrating every time the sun goes behind a cloud. I put an ice cube in Buddy's water dish.

I am amazed that it is hot there. It is always so cool. The water that
I leave out for the birds gets too hot to drink as the day wears on.

I've seen people cook eggs on the hood of a car. Now they're cooking steaks in a car. I've lost my appetite.

I priority mailed you some dog fur. I have never gotten the return receipt. I put knitting material on the customs report. Do you suppose
it was confiscated?

I am still trying to talk myself into doing some cleaning and laundry. Yuch! My house is air conditioned, so why do I feel so listless? It is definitely hot here. Don't you just love it when reporters try to sensationalize mundane things? Maybe her thermostat is as cracked as her brain.

Our local ABC news gets excited over every tragedy and we just hate them.
They will break in to tell you about a tiny grass fire or a wreck. Phony
phony people.

you are such a great grandmother!! Almost literally as well. I just added crazyheart to my netflix queue so I am glad to hear that you enjoyed it...

I am already a great aunt and what is exciting is that my sister's grand
daughter is just a little behind Sara and is having a girl. We are
combining the family reunion with a double shower for the girls.

Although I switch around a lot, I like Diane Sawyer. ABC's "made in America" series was great. And I did see the steak cooked in the car.
It's difficult for me to stay indoors and simply read. Winter time is more conducive to "killing time". Yard and garden beckons, despite the heat.

I think Diane Sawyer is the epitome of class. I certainly cannot say that
about Barbara wa wa. I loved the made in America series. I look forward
to my downtime.
