Blissful Sunday

This has been one of those long and lazy Sundays that prepare
you for the week ahead. We have just vegetated, read the
Sunday paper and ate the carrot cake that I made this morning.

We have good news. We are so proud of Adrienne. She led her
Academic Team to victory in the State Finals. Monroney Middle
School is now State champion. It is a feather in their caps
and I am sure the teachers are very proud. All those times of
rushing Adrienne home so she could watch Jeopardy have paid
off. However, it won't get as much attention as wrestling or
football.

I am trying to force myself to get on the treadmill. I have
really been lazy of late. When it is unpleasantly chilly, I
don't like to walk outside. I just want to be a couch potato.

My daughter tells me to work at facebook but I really don't
like the format. I may have to learn to like it because it
is the only way I can keep up with my grandchildren.

I don't have the hang of Facebook either but I learned enough to post political opinions and when I sign a petition from one of the political mailings I get, I share the link on Facebook because they make it easy. My criticisms of the Republican field and their policies are getting a good response so I am pleased with that. They don't get any personal stuff from me -- I save that for us here on MyBloggers.

It is awful what hackers can do to you and it is just spitefulness
and a desire for unlawful gain. I lost a voided check once and my bank
account was hacked into. Even though I caught it in time, it was sheer
hell getting my new account and the auto deductions done.

I don't much like facebook. They don't really write blogs like we do- they post a sentence or two and photos. I don't spend much time there.

My only interest is in keeping up with my grandchildren and seeing pictures
of the new great grandson.

Facebook is a lot of fun once you get the hang of it. I do my serious blogging here and save facebook for short, humorous messages, for the most part.

I definitely don't have the hang of it.

Kudos to Adrienne and her academic star teammates!!
I really enjoy Facebook. Great easy connections with lots of family and friends, old ones, reconnected ones, and new ones from around the world. Easy to link to many issues, too. One can choose to share what you wish. The new security and info restriction available are simple to employ as one wishes.

We are proud of Adrienne. Duke University has been testing her since she was
in grade school. Now if she just has the practical gene as well.

Yes! Please get on Facebook! It's so fun.
And you can't properly claim a lazy day when you made a cake in the morning.

I used a mix. I seldom make a cake from scratch except for the hot water
chocolate cake. Duncan Hines is my friend.

Duncan Hines makes a decadent carrot cake mix. No trouble and no mess. Use cream cheese frosting. Just get the cream cheese soft, add a box of powdered
sugar (l lb), vanilla and beat with a little tiny bit of milk until it is
spreadable. Be sure it says Decadent Carrot Cake on the box.

The money wasted on diesel to transport buses full of sports teams around a rural county like where I am could be much better spent on the bright kids. Real shame! And I'll stop there (for now, on your page, at least)...

As for fb. It really doesn't require much work. Just click "home" in the upper right corner and scroll. If you don't "like" too many pages, you'll see all the important stuff from friends/family.

We tend to ignore the gifted and talented in our schools and spend the money
on sports. It is a bad situation that is prevalent in our culture. As long
as our schools are over crowded and teachers don't have the time to individualize instruction, education will be a mess. My school career was
as a speech pathologist and counselor. I did some prescriptive teaching for the learning disabled and special ed and teachers just don't have the
time for it in an over crowded classroom. Kids at the top of the class and
at the bottom are cheated of what they need. Now there are classes for
English as a second language. Who knew???

Knowing you and that you aren't much for posting pictures, I'm not sure exactly what you would like about Facebook, can't really see you playing their games, or 'liking' Target and Walmart.' Keep in mind that it is all about advertising - they sell whatever personal information about you that can be mined out of it.

I need to see the pictures of Kevin Anne's little girl and of Owen. Linda
says Owen is the cutest baby she has ever seen and Kevin Anne's baby is a
living doll according to her great grandmother. She got the famous Trammel
once in a generation, eyes.
