Lamentations- Finished

Ok- I finished her. I added the purple shawl both to make her look less nude and because it helps anchor the image into the corner. I wasn't crazy about the complete nudity in this one. Purple is the color of mourning, and it works with the tan/ brown skin tones (lots of raw sienna).

Don't know why I am up so late- I have to get up early. The local Coast Guard unit is having a formal Change of Watch. (Change in Commands) Oh well, I can come home afterwards and take a nap.

Striking! A powerfully emotive work, Dottie, straight from your heart! It speaks to mine as well.

I can even see tears pouring down her cheeks and landing on her hair!! This is such an emotional piece..let alone the fact that her voiled shawl (transparent material) adds such a comfort to the subject. I cannot wait to see what this piece does when entering in the upcoming juried shows of the coming year! Kudos! I must add that it reminds me of the turmoil I have been going thru on "my neverending portrait"!
