Cg in Haiti Painting

Here is the finished piece. I say finished, but I already see a bunch of little things to fix or tweak once the paint dries enough to do so. This piece was a bear!

I have an appointment this afternoon and I have to change clothes now and get ready to leave, but I will return later and read more posts. Until then!

Just saw this. Thanks! I like how the painting turned out. The hair- just had to grow it back in. Mine is not a short hair kind of face.

The Coast Guard has an orange-red stripe in their banner (?) which is the color I tried to recreate.

I would have loved to see the girl's face/expression, since that's what the man is laughing at. (There's a critic in every crowd!) Otherwise, BOFFO.

In the original photo, there was a sleeve where I stuck the little girl. I thought that worked well considering this Guardian adopted a Haitian orphan... a little girl, and I have no idea what she looks like.

You do wonderful faces. Why don't you put an ad in the paper for
portraits of children. I bet you could get more work than you could shake a stick at.

I am just starting to get good with facial proportions and skin tones. I have always loved painting people.

One of my favorites. You should send a print to Oprah. She might buy it. She has all black art in her home.
