My New York loft neighbor is an expert glass artist and had a workshop in New York at one time. Now he makes his living running art shows throughout the country. Lila, his fashion executive wife just stayed with us. She's down here working with Chico's this week. It was a delight to see her.
The drug laws are key to the racism in states like Mississippi. They won't give up on them because they are determined to oppress minorities. They feel justified because God only wants white people. He just made minorities to give white people a reason to feel good about themselves.
Love it.
The description of that long-ago election is uncannily like the current one. Americans today think they have to elect Santa Claus, having no concept of what it takes to be a world leader. Anyway, no one is without skeletons. What I hope for is a person with integrity and talent. I think Hillary has both and this liar business was invented. I have back stories for saying this.
That is scary. Do you have a name for the bear? Pick something neutral because you don't know the gender.
You are dauntless in your mission but methinks it's time to go to Vegas.
Just watched the last debate. Hillary was very good. Donald wilted as the debate wore on. The big headline is that he refused to say he would support the outcome if he loses, saying "we'll see." Anslysts are saying this remark will finish him. I am still worried because he has a lot of potentially violent suporters who believe everything he says.
Have a respite from critters following the unbelievable expense of clearing our attic of possums and palm rates, the subsequent removal of insulation, the repiping of the house. In New York Jay would set traps. Yes, the mice died, but that's what we did. Jay put up a sign on a support post one day -- it read "Stantons 7, Mice zero. A meter reader who came into the house kept looking at the sign.
I had savings bonds as a kid, to help the war effort. They cost $18 each and matured to a whopping $25! But the time they were cashed in, inflation had reduced their worth to zero, compared to the time we bought them. I hope, however, that buying them did indeed help our defense.
I like all of them, but particularly the cottages.
One cabinet door was the wrong size and we are waiting for it to be delivered and installed and then I will take pictures. Should have had "before" pix too but didn't do that. :( Still have to break down the boxes we used and find a place to store them in the 3rd world junk shop masquerading as our garage.
It appears they are gone now ... hoping your new neighbors will be a better lot. We are lucky that our neighbors are not loud or rowdy. Although the couple who bought next door do ride motor bikes and occasionally have a rally. But they are not bikers in the classic sense. More like middle class wannabes. There are two neighbors I like and can call on if I need something. The rest are aloof, perhaps thinking of themselves as "special" since this is a pricey cul de sac. My best friend, however, is about 15 houses away on our street. It would be great if she was next door.
What a charming story. So good that Rex has a playmate that he likes. Jose sounds like a winner and good that he found the monkey, otherwise you'd still be searching.
Impressed with your diligence. Black thumb here salutes you.
Your labors are impressive. I don't think I could do as much. Although I do give myself points for re-loading all the kitchen cabinets. I had fifty boxes or so to deal with. But I just did a couple a day. Go girl.
