Losing the Monkey

Rex does not have an interest in toys but Jose is obsessed
with his monkey, his doll pillow, a pair of my gloves
and his mouse. He can't sleep until they are piled around
him in our bed.

Last night the monkey was no where to be found and it is
by far his favorite, although it is nearly as big as he is.
Ted and I looked everywhere and he finally gave up when
it was time for lights out.

This morning when I woke up, the monkey was in bed with
us. I can only imagine what kind of nocturnal foray this
little dog did to find him. I just may and go buy a
duplicate to avoid another crisis.

These dogs keep us laughing, particularly the pretend
fights. Rex plays gently when Jose growls and attacks.
Rex has such a sweet personality and I love seeing him
enjoy his little pipsqueak companion.

What a charming story. So good that Rex has a playmate that he likes. Jose sounds like a winner and good that he found the monkey, otherwise you'd still be searching.

Something tells me (experience) that a second replacement monkey just won't cut it!

The replacement probably wouldn't have the right smell!!

that is too funny about the monkey! I can just see Jose searching through the house until he found it!

When I woke up the monkey was staring me in the face. I couldn't believe
he had searched until he found it.

We are all picturing the nighttime chase Jose did to recover that monkey.

All is serene now the monkey is on board.

I wish you could see our gentle giant play with this Midget dog. we
are still convinced he is a wind up toy dog.
