The Follow up Was Good

Ed and I got up really early and drove to Moffitt in Tampa (2 ½ hours) for my follow-up appointment. I felt so sick – earache, bad throat, achy all over, but I didn’t want to cancel. So I took a hot shower and got myself moving.
The good news is there is no news … had bilateral mammogram, sonogram, and nothing was there, so I am due for a follow in 3 months and then another test day in 6 months. I am happy about that.

It was a long day with three appointments, including one with the radiology nurse and we didn’t get away until three. We finally got to the cafeteria around 2, and had something to eat. I had only had a piece of toast in the morning. I had a terrible headache, and Ed was sure it was because I was running on empty.

When we got home, I was so tired, I couldn’t rest. You know the feeling? You’re lying down and nothing feels right. So I cleaned car grease off of our clothes ... our car has areas that will put tar on your clothes, and it is hard to know where it’s coming from. We have a tire cleaner and have to apply it right away and scrub.

My GTF Nadine, came over this morning and gave Brunswick his epilepsy med at 9 a.m. She said he jumped off the bed when she came in the door, ran over to the kitchen counter and jumped on it to wait for her. That kitty is so dear, he brings a lump to my throat. She played with him a little while – he loves to do “bump face”, and also with Chewy and Max,the terror.

So I plan to rest a lot … hope I can kick this on-again-off-again flu-like thing I am fighting. The nurse said she thought my lately problems (including the balance syndrome) could well be the result of my adjusting to not being on hormone replacement that I was on for 50 years. I’ve been thinking the same thing but she’s the first medical professional to agree with me.

xx, Teal

Still think you need to get on Effexor. It cured so many of my problems.

Thanks again ... asked about it and was told I could take it but that I'd have to ask my internist for the prescription and because I never know what day it is, and had a day-long headache yesterday, I didn't do it and now I have to wait until Monday.

If it doesn't clear up, you SHOULD see an ear Doc. Please.

You may be on to something--that hormone thing. It's hard to imagine you "being under the weather". You're so perky and active. Here's wishing you better health.

You may have picked up a virus. We are just now recovering from one . So
there are no signs of cancer and that is cause for a celebration. Hugs

It's taking so long to get rid of and now I have recurring head/ear ache and am taking aspirin 3 times a day.

Hope you get to feeling better, Dear Teal.

Thanks Ms. T -- one step forward, two steps backward but it's easing off.

I've had bouts of vertigo twice. Both times lasted for months and were after recovering from the flu. When I told Dr Dunce about it he stated, "Well, you do have volatile blood pressure."

I've had vertigo (room spinning) ... it was horrid. Can't imagine enduring that for months. Mine is/was (thankfully) a balance problem, lightheadedness and my blood pressure also fluctuates from normal to very low. Glad you got over that.

Sometimes when my sinuses get bad the drainage blocks my Eustacion tube and my right ear feels blocked. This has caused balance problems with me.

Have you recently had any inner ear problems?
comment by jondude on Oct 13, 2011 5:38 PM ()
I kept talking about inner ear involvement and no one listened. If this doesn't totally clear up, I may still see an eye/ear guy.
