Facebook Confusion and Shared Remedies

I still don’t understand Facebook. I clicked on a poll, filled it out (progressively, of course), went to the comments section, tried to post something. I chose Facebook as my I.D., but the site said I’d have to disable something first and I gave up. During this effort, I was informed that three people on Facebook had “unfriended” me. First, who gives a shit, and second, anyone on Facebook who is not already aware of my politics from actually knowing me, isn’t my friend to start with.

In any case, when I signed on to Facebook a day later, I remembered the "Alert" (see "first" above) and out of simple curiosity, looked for the notification. I couldn’t find any reference to it at all. In the words of the immortal Alfred E. Neumann, “What, me worry?”

I am taking something called Laminine that helps rejuvenate body cells. I seem able to do more but still have to rest a lot after any effort. It’s expensive. $100 or so for 90 pills. I am also about to start (when it gets here) taking hyaluronic acid that helps lubricate the joints. I have had cortisone shots in my fingers about 3 times now. I can still play but it's hard to know if I would be better if my hands weren't so stiff. Never had this problem before I stopped HRT. I bought 2 for 1 on Puritan.com (it specializes in supplements) and my gtf, Nadine, and I are starting it together. She, however, says that since she started adding chia seed to her cereal and other dishes, that her arthritis symptoms have waned big time.

Laminine was available on Amazon and I got my first order there. Then Amazon was enjoined from offering it because LifePharm that sells it wants to be the only game in town. So my massage therapist who was the person who recommended this, ordered it for me and from now on, I can do it.
I offer all these remedies, in case my ailing friends want to try any.

I am still having trouble sleeping a full night through because of body heat that won’t quit. Ice packs live under my pillow and sometimes I have to reverse the pillow every 2 minutes or so because I heat it up so fast. Not sleeping is, I am sure, making me tired throughout the day as well.

The cats do not understand this process. Ed is awakened sometimes by my thrashing but I just think of that as payback because he is so restless himself and will sometimes talk in his sleep (particularly if working through a troubling problem). I can sleep through almost anything but language. Once my left brain is engaged, I am UP. Despite all of this, he is aces although he snarled at me this morning for making noise while removing the ice packs to return them to the freezer. But he was friendly when he did get up. What a dear.

xx, Teal

There was an article about chia seeds on Sunday in the Chicago Tribune. Very healthy for us. They said to soak the seeds in a glass of liquid and they will get gel-like, sort of like tapioca. Then you just drink it right down. Or you can cook with them.

I don't mind the seeds-- I mix them with dry cereal. After dinner, I mix them with a chocolate pudding. Thought of drinking a gel-like thingy doesn't appeal to me.

Facebook is switching everyone to Timeline August 18th, if we want it or not. Timeline is already on another page that I administer and I don't like it. If you didn't like FB before, you really won't like it now.

I only post political opinion on Facebook and sometimes I will search for an old friend (my friends go so far back, I should be checking the obits instead). If Timeline lets me do that, I will manage. I don't have to be a "power user". I use E mail to stay in touch with friends (and the phone -- remember that?)

I never have a problem with Facebook. I think you just haven't got the hang of it.

Have to add, this morning I posted a comment on Morning Joe's page on Facebook (MSNBC every morning). When I went back to find it 5 minutes later, it wasn't there. I scrolled way down in case others posting dropped me -- is 40 pages too little? hiss boo

Bless you then because it never does the same thing with the same clicks twice for me. I see it as the bipolar site.

Yeah, down with FB. Hope the pills continue to be effective.

Sounds like you must have clicked on a spam link on fb since there is no legitimate app that tells you when someone unfriends you. I go for the political stuff on there too. An interesting article the other day about Mitt. If he's guilty of something on taxes and it comes out, he won't be the nominee and TP will "fill in". A ling shot... but interesting...

Toilet paper will fill in?

I have been seeing a lot about chia seeds lately. New trendy thing?

My friend put me on to them a year ago, but I couldn't get into them. However, if they help with arthritis, I'm willing to try again. I don't know how "new" this is.

Befriending other Facebook people is so easy and cheap, it is basically meaningless. Keep in mind that Facebook users 'like' Target, 'like' a mud puddle, 'like' absolutely anything, no discrimination at all.

I almost canceled out of Facebook early on, but then I discovered how useful it was for political posts and sharing links I get to petitions and progressive videos. That's all I use it for. I have friends I know in real life who are on, but I always choose to E mail them instead.

Teal, we have ordered provigil and it is terribley expensive but according
to the evening news, it is supposed to provide a lot of extra energy. I

I'll have to check this out too. Everything is costly now.
