I live 7 miles from a mid-size town (16,000 with a Wal-mart), and 4 miles from a small town (1500 with a Subway).
I'm going to the small town (Rossville) this morning. They have a new library--convenient. I'll hit that. I need some wine from CVS. There is an IGA, but I rarely buy anything from them--too expensive.
I'm also going to town to discontinue my safe deposit box at the bank. It costs me $60/yr to retain it, and I don't think I have anything in there worth that. When nothing of value was taken when my house was broken into, I figured the few items I keep "safe" would remain just as safe at home. Besides, lightning won't strike twice, will it?
I'll go out to the golf course where "the boys" are playing gin in the club house. It's the usual small town gathering place for a little socialization. Isn't that one of the keys to longevity? The club house is adjacent to our family farm, so I'll look over the land, saying, "Yep. It's still there". I might pick up some persimmons, too.
That's my entertainment for the day. Wanna join me?
