Time Out

Sorry my new avatar came out so small. That IS tiny moi, taken in Utah last year. I just can't seem to get the hang of posting photos.

This is a late night post because I'll be busy tomorrow (Wed) watching my grandson. I actually volunteered, after feeling guilty for declining the last time I was asked. (Plus, I refuse to watch anything about the N.H. primary on the telly.) I DON'T CARE!

Another gorgeous day in the low 50's. I took a 6 mile walk, absorbing every bit of the countryside I could. Then I burned debris in my "water" garden--my old filled in pond site. It's been so dry, it almost got away from me. And the smoke went right toward the house, seeping in wherever it could.

So tomorrow, I plan to take Jonny to the library, plus visit my father, maybe sister. And play. And nap.

I just read today about the importance of naps. Of the mammal phylum, humans are about the only ones that don't take regular naps. Most of us work all day. When I was teaching, I could have used a nap after lunch. I sometimes barely made it home without falling asleep at the wheel. Now, it's part of my daily routine. Fifteen minutes worth, and I'm ready to go.

There's my "time out". You may return to your regular program.

Ah! That is why throughout many parts of the world, they have siestas and teas.

Which has proved to be beneficial, or so they say. I like green tea. Have it every day.

Very disappointed at your new tiny profile picture Randy, I was hoping to get a good look a what a loving grandfather that takes naps while trying to burn his house down & dreams about going to the library, really looks like . . . . . bummer

Sorry I missed this reply. Ha ha! I'll change my avatar today, if it will please you! I just don't have many photos of myself. I'm always behind the camera.

Naps are great, I don't get to nap often enough.

I don't nap in the summertime. Too much to do. So I know how difficult it is for you--a very busy person.

A 15 minute nap is just "resting your eyes" in my book.

It's much more for me. Meditating is more for resting the eyes.

I find a short nap about 2 in the afternoon revitalizes me also. Have fun with Jonny Boy.

I used to think naps were a waste of time. Now, not only do they "kill" a little winter time, but they energize me, and, evidently, improve my mind. Dreams are an important ingredient to naps and sleep.

My Dad naps all the time now that he's older. Actually he always liked to nap, just didn't always have the time working full time. When I nap I never want to wake back up, so I avoid them... Have fun today!

Jonny's nap was 3.5 hours long! Mine, 20'. We had a great time. His mother wasn't too happy about us visiting my father who has a cold. I took a chance we wouldn't catch it.

I have always needed to nap and partly because I was working all day and taking ballet at night. I'd find an empty office and sack out at noon. I watched enough of the New Hampshire primary coverage to make up for you.

Masochistic, are you? I look at it this way: once the "event" is over, it's history and nobody cares anymore. Like Iowa (and N.H.). All that hype and more hype. Same ol', same ol'. I'm 100% positive I'll be voting for Obama, no matter who is nominated.
