Five Percenter

I was a bad boy this past week.

On Tuesday, I had a BK Jr. whopper with bacon and a Dr. Pepper for lunch.
Thursday, I had fried catfish and fries for supper. (I went out to eat with my father and one sister.) I brought one catfish home for a later meal.
And Friday, I ate a hamburger with baked beans, chips, and a coke. (on a golf outing, which, by the way, we came in second, and I won a nice umbrella. Everything was free, too, golf included!)

It was/is time for some serious rationalization. I figure I deserve to splurge every now and then. After all, I eat "right" at least 95% of the time. True, I probably eat too much processed cereal and have a cookie each lunch. But overall, I eat my fruits and vegetables, etc.

This just happened to be one of those weeks where everything bad occurred simultaneously. And to top things off, I'm going to my small town's "Summers End Festival" today, featuring more nasty, but delicious food. I'll try to be selective, at worst--or eat nothing, at best.

Starting tomorrow, it's back to tomatoes and cottage cheese.
Enjoy the weekend!

I like a good hamburger now and then -- i have one maybe once a year, and I like Perkins pancakes with whipped cream, but haven't had those in 2 years. I'm waiting for the right occasion.

I haven't had fast food in a considerable amount of time, close to a year, but I know when I have the urge, I will PIG OUT!

That's exactly what I did (and do). With all those enticing TV commercials, it's tempting to run right out and "splurge". Will power!

If I have tomatoes and cottage cheese in my fridge, does that mean I have to eat them?
comment by nittineedles on Aug 26, 2012 9:46 PM ()
Of course. You know refrigerated tomatoes lose their flavor? I don't suppose it matters if they're store bought (flavorless to begin with).

On your cold sub comment: not all of the subs are cold. You can get a warm chicken sub on toasted bread. The chicken doesn't seem to be processed and you can load it up with all the vegies. Or you can get a pizza sub, processed everything!

You got me there. I admit to having a hot sub about 4 years ago. My small 1500 pop community actually has a Subway.

Shame on you she says as she eats her subway sandwich......

I never understood that "eat fresh" slogan of Subway. Not frozen? Anyway, I never was a cold sub sandwich partaker. Processed cold cuts on a dry bun doesn't appeal to me. I plan to open a peanut butter and jelly sandwich shop some day.

Do you have funnel cakes at your festival? Will you partake? I love funnel cakes and have one once a year.

I saw them and was tempted. Instead, I had Lions Club soft serve ice cream--not much better!

hehe yes, u do eat VERY well for the most part.... Just focus on that to get thru these "bad boy" times.

I didn't even mention the 3 donuts I ate at the golf outing! I return to my "good boy" status today.

You confess eating fast/fatty foods the way one might confess an illicit affair!
comment by dragonflyby on Aug 25, 2012 8:54 AM ()
I felt so guilty, I had to confess! Besides, everybody thinks I'm Mr. Goody Twoshoes for my health habits, etc. I'm human, after all!

Yes, it was fun being bad--if only temporarily. I might do it again soon!
