This and That

I woke up to rain and a wet newspaper this morning. Why don't they wrap them? Grrr.

But, the rain is much appreciated. My garden weeds were thirsty. I've been trying to clean up my sweet corn patch. Still eating the "scragglers". Waste not, want not.

I'm back to a diet of green beans and kale, etc. Made a pot of bean soup last night with veggies added.

Took the day off yesterday from jogging or walking. For some reason my big toe is "bruised", making it difficult to put pressure on it. I dusted and oiled my old bicycle and went for a 9 mile ride. My butt feels it today. Golf today might be painful (I think it's quit raining).

Not much else happening. No word from any family member, so nothing to report there.

Have a good week.

I've wanted to enter stuff in the Fall Fair for YEARS! But kept backing out at the last minute. This time, dang it, I'm doing it!!

It has cooled off here, and is already feeling like fall! The grass is mostly going dormant, I've picked the apples, the green beans are done, the pumpkins and zucchini are getting big. Next weekend is the fall fair, and I'm trying to enter as much as I can into the red ribbon competition - vegies, canning, photographs, etc. I'm even going to make a scarecrow!

Holy moly, girl! Why don't you just overdo it? I did up a gallon of apple sauce yest. Today, I'm going to bake a sweet potato pie--from a LAST YEAR'S potato!

I'll bet your garden is singing "aahhh" in the rain.

Our newspapers are bagged every day. On rainy days, they are double bagged with the 2nd bag covering the slit end of the first bag. You should complain to the newspaper.

Our paper (The Washington Post) is always wrapped... they do a good job of that. Although we haven't gotten the paper in awhile....

My paper subscription ran out a month ago, but I still keep receiving them. Guess I shouldn't complain about a wet paper.
