I'll begin with personal news.
My one and only son emailed me! He asked if I could help with a plane ticket home this summer (from CA). I'm helping his sister (CA, too), so why not? Moneybags here. We'll have a family mini-reunion, minus only one daughter.
My mystery bird has been identified--a house finch (and mate)! Bird book says they're found West and East, but not Midwest. They are now! Building a nest in the neck curve of my downspout. Great!
I finally broke 80 on my new golf course (79). But I've only been able to play 4 times. It's about 5 strokes more difficult than my previous "home" course. But I like it better. If you remember, I switched courses due to a falling out with some members and former friends. No regrets.
I planted 6 more blueberry plants yesterday--little stubby things. I had bought (on line) two sets of "2 for $10", but they packed 3 plants in each sack. Some day, I'm going to have lots of blueberries! 12 plants in all, if they survive.
(I see a rabbit in the garden right now--GIT!)
Happy anniversary yest. to 50 years in space, when Alan Shepard flew. I was a Senior in high school. Now I'm just a Senior. It can't be.
Kentucky Derby is tomorrow. I don't follow horse racing, but I'm putting my money on "Pants on Fire". Love that name!
And hurray, hurray, The Donald is withdrawing from driving the pace car at the Indy 500! "Too busy", he says. Yeah, sure. He's still smarting over the shellacking he took at the Correspondants Dinner. He had no business driving anyway.
I see Gen Motors made a ton of money last quarter. To the naysayers of the govt. bailout, I say "na na nee na na".
Don't you just love our President?! He was so low-keyed at "Ground Zero" yesterday, as he talked individually to affected people. He's visiting Indiana today to hype his green energy policies. Possible Republican presidential candidate, Indiana's own governor, Mitch Daniels, will greet him at the airport. And have you noticed how many news commentators have accidentally misspoken Obama's name, saying "Osama"? Easy mistake, but embarrassing.
And speaking of energy, our state and local gas prices are staggeringly high. Like $4.25 a gal. But there appears to be hope, as the price of a barrel of oil dropped under $100 yest.
It's pretty sad when I have to think twice about driving the 60 miles round trip to visit my daughter and grandson (Sun). That's $12 worth of gas. Oh well, as I said before, "moneybags".
Have a great Friday and weekend!
Obama rocks!
