For those of you who care, my first date with Lynn is history.
For starters, she was 30 minutes late, although she thought we were to meet at 6:30 rather than 6:00 (I have email proof). The Pizza Hut parking lot was hot! And I worried something happened (like to me, where I barely avoided a rear end accident right behind me). She was apologetic, and all was forgiven. I told her "waiting heightened the anticipation". But my cut flowers for her wilted in the heat.
We split a vegetable pizza. I hate conversing while eating. I couldn't tell you what the pizza tasted like. We took a walk in the park, then drove to another park with a pond and sat and talked. Total time together- two and a half hours.
She's really "adorable", although, like me, aging. I have to be realistic. I'm not a teenager anymore. No more hot chicks. But she's still quite attractive and healthy looking. I liked the way she listened (and I hope I didn't talk/boast too much). I also liked what she had to say about herself and her outlook on life. She's a magazine publisher--THE publisher--which impressed me.
I took all your advice, tried to be a gentleman, and was "myself". I couldn't totally "loosen up", remaining a little nervous and self aware of how I was behaving. I'm sure we'll be seeing each other again, so I hope to be more at ease on future dates.
We have much in common, and some differences (she likes beer, I like wine). But it's the personalities meshing that's important. I think I like our chances. Time will tell.
