Good Friday morning, MyBloggers-ites! (I still maintain we'd attract more bloggers if we had a different name.) Happy 11-11-11 to you! Don't you love it?
Last night, I drove to daughter Emily's for a "family" supper. Besides she and Nate and their son Johnny, my Honduras-living daughter (Valerie) was there. She's in the states for "continuing education" in optometry. Also in attendance was their mother (my ex).
So, it turned out to become sort of a mini-reunion slash family gathering slash homecoming. Whatever. Only my two California children were missing.
It's always great to see my oldest (38) daughter. We all reminisced about old times. My ex acts "normal" nowadays. We get along fine. Time has healed many wounds. I'm not so angry anymore, and have forgiven, but never forgotten, her and what she did to the family. In any case, we all had a fun time. I enjoyed watching the 3 ladies preparing the meal together, laughing and arguing, no bad memories apparent.
Earlier in the day, Nate and I visited my lawyer and the Area Plan Commission office for guidelines on "The Big Move". I can "gift" up to $52,000 in land value, tax free. We both learned a lot and are ready for the next step. I'll keep you informed (not that you care, but what's the purpose of blogging, if not to "entertain" you in family matters!).
We had a hard freeze last night, but thanks to my many trees, my garden didn't get hit too hard. I still have chard, kale, Brussels, arugala, and root crops. I brought back a bunch of spinach from Nate's farm. It's going to be a green food weekend! Get outdoors.
