Dog Bless America

This, indeed, is a memorable occasion. Something to be celebrated and revered. I'm sure you'll all agree we should be thankful. Is this a great country, or what?

The cause for celebration? Why it was 60 years ago today that General Foods sent out to 6 cities their first boxes of "Cheeri-oats", now known as Cheerios!! If I knew how, I would insert a photo of a box. But you recognize the familiar yellow packaging by now.

I love Cheeri-oats (well, Aldi brand)! My kids grew up on them from infancy. They made great snacks and taught them dexterity. Heck, maybe they even learned to read, using the back of the box!

I fixed pancakes yesterday for breakfast. No cold cereal for a radical change. The day wasn't the same. So for a "midnight" snack, I had a bowl of Cheerios! And this morning, another bowl. Watch out world.
I am now ready to take on Osama bin Laden. Oh wait--he was killed. Dang. Beaten to the punch.

Going to Aldis for the first time tomorrow--anything I should look for?

By the time you read this, it will probably be too late. No advice for Aldi shopping. Just take your time and peruse. You might be too picky for the Aldi experience. You'll have to make your own decisions. Have fun!

I love Cheerios too. Got a box right now, but my favorite is raisin bran- just about any brand.

Cheerios for lowering cholesterol, bran flakes for fiber. Take your pick. I rotate all kinds. Sometimes, I can't decide!

I catch your drift. I was going to have oatmeal today, but ran out of time to prepare it (regular, not quick oats). I'm on a tight schedule.

I like the new "honey-nut" cheerios.
