Today (10-28) is my oldest daughter's 38th birthday (the one that lives in Honduras). Here's the amazing fact. All three of my girls had the exact same "due date" of Sept. 28th. Valerie was one month late, Laura 2 weeks early (9-12), Emily two weeks late (10-10).
I'm still trying to figure out what was so special about the 9 months to the day prior to 9-28! Christmas school vacation?
There was frost on the pears this morning. I put out a road stand for free pears 5 days ago, but from what I can tell, nobody has taken up my offer. What, nobody likes pears? I try to use them in everything. Yesterday, I made a yellow cake with pears and rhubarb and black walnuts mixed in. Really good!
And I see I have a family of little "ground" squirrels running around picking up my walnuts. My garage rafters might collapsa from the weight of their stolen goodies. As long as they have a nut source, they won't venture into my trap.
I babysat my grandson all day yesterday, here at my house. I'm glad I kept all my kid's toys for him to play with. He's a great little boy--never gets into anything, or whines, or fusses. He turned 2, two weeks ago. I bought him some plastic golf clubs and a Vermont t-shirt (a cow driving a tractor pictured).
I've been doing a lot of "running around" meeting with people regarding my kids building on the family farm: Area Planning Commission, zoning board, financial planner, etc. Why can't they make things simple? Hoops, hoops, and more hoops. But, we're making progress.
Too cold to play golf, so I think I'll go for a jog later. And I still have lots of wood to split. I stayed up past my bedtime last night to watch the W.S., but I finally gave up. Game 7 tonight. I'll try to watch to the bitter end--not that I really care. But next to the Cubs, I like the Cards.
Have a good weekend!
