Sports, and Those That Follow Them
With the recent defection of Lebron James to Miami I was amazed all the negative responses that came from this. I watch sports, baseball(1st love), football, and sometimes tennis. In this day in age nothing surprises me anymore, the word team loyalty is used now as a punchline to a worn out joke. To start I won't say all pro athletes are motivated by money alone, but it's a safe bet that a high percentage are concerned with that financial bottom line. The games that we knew and loved back in our day are now played by men, who's sole interest is how much money will be payed for their services. I guess the fact that I don't live in Cleveland or have less then a passing interest in basketball the Lebron story didn't effect me that much. People shouldn't be surprised that Lebron left, he wanted money & a ring..I guess he figured he wasn't going to get that in Cleveland. I say to Cleveland move on and pick up the pieces, in the end you'll be better off without King James. I don't think there is anything worse then watching a player playing for a team that does not want to be there. Class is a ball player name Ken Griffey Jr, who in his 22nd year of playing baseball realized he no longer had the tools to be a help to his team. So he retired, and in 5 years will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. There use to be a lot of classy players, well now they are few and far between. Yes you can call me cynical..but I choose to call it being realistic.
