Times

Year by year
Time passes by
Don't know where it went
But is sure did fly.
The past is behind us
The future lies ahead
Will we enjoy it
Or will we be dead.
I live my future
Each and every day
Sounds foolish
I guess some would say.
But the time we spend
Is a precious commodity
And though it comes cheap
It certainly isn't free.
We pay the price
Each and every day
To live, to breathe
To be here, to stay.
I have lived, and loved
Many times it seems
I have rested, I have slept
And had many wonderful dreams.
I wish I could go back
Do my life over again
And spend the time
With you my friend.
