Move Ahead

Looking for direction
A point where I can begin
Traveling a life
That I can feel comfortable in.
Found lovers
Who wanted to be friends
When it fell apart
The love ends.
But I turned
Walked away
Nothing was left
Nothing to say.
Alone in the dark
One more night
Holding you in my dream
Until the morning light.
You start wondering
How you'll get by
Try to hold together
And not break down and cry.
But sometimes
Life isn't cut and dry
It isn't easy
Sometimes you have to try.
Soon the time
Someone comes along
History repeats itself
Same old song.
But still you move forward
Keep pushing ahead
For if you live in the past
You might a well be dead.

I agree with your sentiments. I don't like living in the past. Great words.

If you put all your poems in a book in the right order, they would tell a life story.
