The tree stands
In the town square
Decorated so brightly
In Christmas flair.
Spirits soar
As if they could fly
And snow falls
Silently from the sky.
Everyone is smiling
Wishing all good cheer
Even Santa Claus
Made a special trip to be here.
Even though the news
Hasn't all been glad
We give thanks for what we have
Instead of what we wish we had.
Soon we will gather
With friends and family
And sing carols
By the Christmas tree.
We give thanks
For those that are here
And prayers for those
That we wish we near.
For Christmas in my heart
Is pure and true
And I send this wish
To each and every one of you.
