Billy Crystal..point Missed

Why are people getting their panties in a bunch over the Yankees letting Billy Crystal suit up and taking an at bat or his 60th birthday? With all the pounding MLB has taken over the steroid issue you'd think everybody would like a feel good story such as this. Crystal is a die-hard Yankee fan, and most of all he is a fan of baseball. If you have watched him for any length of time, or listen to him talk about baseball you can tell of his emotional ties to the game. The Yankees decide for Crystals 60th birthday to let him play in an exhibition game, a great gesture or the Yankees..though I am sure they made a nice chunk of change off it. Some people became irate over this notion, a 60 year old playing professional baseball..how dare the Yankees sully the game this way. Myself I think it was great, I think for Crystal if he dropped dead today that he'd die a happy man. The only thing I could equate it to would be somebody who is into space getting to ride the shuttle. So put all the steroid garbage on the back burner and take this story for what it is worth..a feel good story with a happy ending.

I think it's awesome!!!! I bet if someone offered one of the complainers the chance to play they would jump at it! Jealousy is there problem.

I think it is fantastic that he fullfilled his dream--too bad he couldn't have hit a homer!!

He was able to fulfill a life long dream. What is wrong with that?? Everybody should be able to see their dream come true. Why didn't anybody complain when Tom Selleck or Garth Brooks suited up. Baseball fans need to lighten up.
