I've had a rough couple of weeks at work. There aren't enough RN's to go around. We have all been working from dawn to dusk...and even later. Stress level is at a peak.
Today I scooted by the Post Office after leaving one patient's house and headed for another. There in my P.O. box was a yellow slip of paper telling me I had a package "too large for the box". Oh great. My Hubby (whom I love and adore) has ordered yet another gadget for the 1953 Buick that holds a close second place in his heart. I got the big box from Nice Postal Lady and tossed it on the front seat of my car. I then glanced over and saw...it was for ME!
Only a few people have ever pulled one over on the Dawgnurse. Yep, I'm much too wise to let a group of folks surprise me. Most of my friends wouldn't even think of trying.
Some of you did just that. I cannot begin to tell you how much that "random act of kindness" has filled my heart with joy and my eyes with tears of happiness. My day got just a little brighter, my work load seemed just a little lighter and my smile was back in its place!
Inside the box was a wonderful hand made quilt with messages on the squares. Words fail me. That, too, seldom happens.
What do you say to people who you have never met face to face...only heart to heart?
How about, "Thank you". How about a thousand Thank You's.
I won't name names...you know who you are and just how special you are in the life of this Georgia Gal who drives a Mello-Yello Beetle and is known as....
The Dawgnurse...blest beyond her wildest dreams!
