Do any of you remember or even know who Minnie Pearl was? She was on the Grand Ole Opry. She always wore a big ole hat that still had the price tag on it. It was $1.95! She was dressed in gingham checked dress and usually sported an apron. Her standard greeting was, "How-deeeee! I'm just so proud to be here".
Well....howdeeeee! I'm just so proud to be HERE! I was in Nashville today for a little bizness and was driving around the big city when I came face to face with the "Ryman Auditorium". This is where several years ago the Grand Ole Opry was sent out over the TV to homes across the South.
As we sat in the traffic waiting for the light to change Hubby looked over at me and asked if I, too, heard music. Jokingly I said, "Honey, we are in Nashville...it could be coming from the sidewalk!". After we parked the car and began walking to our assigned building I made an amazing discovery. THE MUSIC WAS INDEED COMING FROM THE STREET!! There was a speaker on the pole at the corner just at street level. I think Hank Williams was belting out a tune about some lost love or faithful old dog or riding a train or something like that.
Just thought you'd enjoy my story about hearing a tune while in the "land of music"...Nashville, TN.
MzScarlett...going with the wind and snow today!
