Got Gas?

I woke up at 5:30 and got ready for work.  Ended up being a little late for work but it doesn't really matter since I am usually the only one in the place that early anyway.  I like to get here early so I can leave early.  Have an afternoon ya know.

Anyway I sit down at my desk and my phone rings.  My G/F is on other end telling me someone siphoned all the gas out of her car over night.  She had half a tank yesterday.  Now her car wont even start.  So I tell her sit tight and I'll be there in 15.

I tell the guy sitting next to me that I have to go help my G/F cause someone siphoned all the gas out of her car.  He tells me that now people are starting to drill holes in the gas tanks to get the gas because newer cars have anti-siphons' on them!  Really!

Well thankfully hers was just the normal siphoning not a hole in the tank thief.  I'm sure the gas bandits want to be able to come back next week for more!  Surprise though... we are buying a lock for her tank today.  I hope they are not too much money though.  I have 2 kids with birthdays this weekend.  Doubt they would be excited about getting a gas lock for a gift?

We took a tiny little gas can that hold 2 gallons to the station.  The gas cost $3.40 a gallon!!!!! It was over 6 bucks for 2 stupid gallons of gas!  No wonder people are stealing gas!  That's ridiculous.

I hate Bush.  This is all his fault.

Okay, I'm sorry...but that last line had me laughing out loud.Since I'm Canadian, I don't feel I ever have the right to say anything about your president, but damn...

Wow I never even thought about people stealing gas right out of tanks! You just opened my eyes- I am going to buy a lock tomorrow - I can't afford to have my gas taken! It saddens my heart to think of people stooping to that level over gas- we are all feeling the "pain at the pump"!

Sheesh, that's unreal, although I can't say that I'm surprised with the price of gas these days. Gas here is 1.29/L (I think there are three or four liters in a gallon?) It's funking ridiculous. (BTW, I agree -- I always like to get into work early too for the same reason. )

Rather than commuting to work, many people might find it more profitable to stay at home unemployed.

The advantage to living in a small town: It doesn't take very long to walk or ride a bus anywhere.

I agree! This is ridiculous!I heard that more and more people are driving away from the pumps without paying--more and more stations have gone to prepay.

3.55 is the cheapest?!! That's so totally ridiculous. You know someone is making bank on that and it has nothing to do with oil shortages let me tell you.

"Keep America Out Of The Bushes..." not enough people paid attention to my yells so many loooong years ago.
The cheapest gas we've found here is $3.55 a gallon. It's tough, especially when driving an old V8, to be able to afford the "extra" little trips to the park and such. I wish that some of the affluent had to spend a day in the life of someone who has to choose between buying gas or medicine, you know? It's getting ridiculous.
