Back to Life

I took 2 weeks off for Christmas. It was wonderful. I slept til 11:30 every day, ate everything I wanted, stayed in my sweats if I wanted and got drunk nightly!
Coming back to work sucked balls. I really hate this time of year. The 2 – 3 months of winter after the holidays seem to go so slow for me. I hate being cold.
In 2 weeks it will be Jan 21st. That is a strange day for me. I met my 3rd husband on that day… a good thing as I am still a good friend with him. I had my wedding reception to my 2nd husband on that day….not a good thing as I hate him now. I started my job on that day 3 years ago…. A good thing. I sprained my ankle on that day…..I didn’t go to a doctor so it may have been broke who knows. Last year I broke my foot on that day….. ouch mother fucking ouch!
So needless to say, I’m a little apprehensive of that day coming up. I may just hide in my room until it’s over just in case.
Today is my 3 month anniversary of my stop smoking date. (patting myself on my back) I usually quit every autumn and by the holidays I am smoking again…due to the stress and parties going on. But this year I made it! There was a couple very rough days and I am surprised I didn’t smoke but whew… I did it :)
My son was here for the holidays. It was wonderful having him around. He is such a sweetheart. I cried like a baby when I had to drop him off at the airport. The good thing is, we got him an ITouch for Christmas and he found an app that lets it text like a cell phone so I can keep in contact with him all the time now. Before, his horrible step monster would monitor our conversations. Creepy bitch. He graduates this year so I’m hoping he will move home. If not, at least come for the summer.
I had a great date Friday with my girlfriend Erin. We went to a restaurant that serves tapa style. Little plates of food so you can order many items and get a little taste of everything. We had crab cakes, mussels, a mushroom and brie plate, and a roasted duck. I could have ate more but we had to get going. The second part of our date was a play called Greater Tuna. A 2 man play that makes fun of small towns and the people in them. One of the actors is a popular Utah comedian that has a character named Sister Dottie Dixon and he is hilarious in that role but for this new play, he did many characters and they all sounded just like Sister Dottie Dixon so I didn’t enjoy it very much.
It was still a fun night and I am having a blast with Erin. She seriously does complete me.
Have a great Monday :)

You shouldn't 'dread' the day - turn it into a day you are going to be looking forward to arrive ('forget' the past unhappy events - they are gonnnneeeeee) - never to return. End of. Full stop.
Tomorrow, however - hasn't yet arrived - let alone 21st Jan. This is going to be the most wonderful day of your life - look forward to that feeling of impending happiness - remember this:
"Whatever you think about - you bring, about - so make ALL your thought, be 'POSITIVE' ones".

I will do that (and stay away from ice patches)

And, as they say, life is good. Just don't forget to cut the 21st out of your calendar!

Cgts on the not smoking! It took awhile to adjust when I quit, but that was 20 years ago now and I have very little memory of the habit. Another habit (Ok, addiction) was disposed of on 21 January 1983. That's a good date in my life!

Yes, stay home in bed on January 21. Congrats on the smoking cessation success, that's a big accomplishment, getting through the holidays without, now you can coast through the rest of the year and next Christmas season you'll be on a smoke-free roll.
