Something Sort of New

Soooo I have decided to try quitting smoking. Again. This will be my millionth attempt. Ha! But really, I am hoping for the best. I am on Chantix, which does help, and also I just bought an electronic cigarette. It's called Blu, and I am in love. I used to have an ecig for when I was out and about and it was fun, but I didn't have it for the purpose of quitting, just to smoke when I couldn't actually smoke for long periods of time. This time is different. I am TRYING to quit. I haven't had a cig since last night, so I think that's pretty good. I am totally allowing myself to have one + if I need it, but so far so good.

I am also dieting. I have lost 5 pounds since the beginning of January. It's a very. slow. process. this time, and I am assuming it's because I am aging. *sigh* At least I am losing and not gaining is what I keep telling myself.

The next phase of operation better myself will be to work out. Yes, I walk dogs all day but that doesn't really compare to 20 minutes continual uphill treadmill walking, ya know? Pup's like to take it slow (or rip my arm off depending on the dog) so it's not quite a fantastic work out... it's still exercise though so it's good.

Our party on Sunday went over fantastically. We had a BLAST even though it was smaller than I expected. I was very happy with the turn out.

Anyways, enough of my babble. Happy Tuesday peeps!

Every little step is one step closer to progress. Setting goals is one thing, but working toward achieving them is another. Sounds like you're on the right track. Slow but sure!

Slooooooow is right! It's frustrating but I know that the slower I lose the pounds, the better. And I still haven't had a cigarette since Monday night. YAY!

quitting smoking and dieting at the same time is a huge undertaking. when Mr. Bugg finally quit he put on a few pounds. but he was kind of a big guy anyway. but I know you can do it. just put yer head down and git 'er done.

Yeah, so far so good. It's day 3! Going strong.

Kristy, my son tried it your way and he stayed hooked and now chews which is
so disgusting. jj is right. Just stop and in a week you will be lots more
able to quit permanently. If you tease yourself with the chantix, you will
have a hard time. I was smoking 2 packs of menthols every day when I made
up my mind to stop. Try diet mints for your oral fixation. I should have
and now am still carrying around the extra weight. Your appetite does soar. I have also heard that brushing your teeth 5 or 6 times a day helps,
because you don't want to lose the clean feeling. I am not shting you it is very hard but you will be glad you did.

I am almost through day 2 and going strong!! I will NEVER chew - no worries there. Eiw. My ecig though, well, that might be with me for awhile... ha I am ok with that though since it beats the alternative 100%! I have noticed that I want to nibble a lot but that's also kind of normal. We shall see!

I don't like to give advice, but since you asked... Weight control and not smoking really won't go well together. Do one, then the other. And since you're already dong Chantix maybe smoking should go first. You may find it necessary on occasion to "stuff" something so food has to be available when needed. And while I'm at it, if you do make it after the millionth try, you will on the million and first, so just keep at it!
Good luck,

You are too funny my friend! I know that quitting smoking and losing weight do not go hand in hand, but I've done it before so I know it's possible, and I'm rather determined. Plus if I start working out bad foods and smoking don't fit in well, ya know? Thanks for the encouragement! You rock.

I'm getting ready to try Chantix. Cigarettes are getting way too expensive.

Wishing you the best of luck quitting! And also in losing some weight!
On the rare occasion that I walk someone's dog, I let the pouch sniff around at first and then I jog them to keep them focused. A slow trot is just enough to keep them on track and not sniffing every spot they come across.

Thanks lady! Jogging is a good idea, but I think I'd tire out way too soon!

Continued on trying to quit this is a must for you and your health.
Diet is a big pain and do feel what your going through.
Take one day at a time.Remember if you are happy with your weight then let it be.
If needed for health reason, then you need to try and do the best there.
Exercise?just keep moving. We enjoy your babble so babble along there.

You are too cute Fredo!
I am too fat for me right now, if that makes sense. I am not comfortable in my own skin, so to me that means it's time to put down the fork!
