I had the wonderful opportunity to go see Haydukes Play. The play was seriously phenomenal. Even R said that he was really enjoying it at intermission, and R is not a play kinda guy. The play was funny during so many scenes, yet tugged on your heartstrings overall. It was a tearjerker, but in a good way, if that makes sense. It was funny to hear some things in the play that I have read Jim say... I am SO GLAD we made the trek up north for the experience!
Oh, I was also really happy that he recognized me! I wasn't sure how that was going to go down. He was REALLY busy greeting people and talking to everyone so I decided to just stand nearby to see if he would see me (and see if he had the time to say hello in all his busi-ness!) and he did. He came up to me and gave me a big hug! Very welcoming! I was happy. My only regret is that we didn't get a picture together.
After the play we were invited to join Jim and his cast at Jim's favorite place, a Main Street pub. What fun! It was karaoke as well, and while we didn't get to actually see it, it was fun to listen to. Good times overall. At first Jim was not pleased with me for sticking to my norm of Miller Lite. I decided to try the brew he was raving about and it was actually pretty good! I am not a beer adventurous person so I was happy I could drink this (without twinging) to avoid Jim's heckling. :0) It was a super fun evening. I tried to get him to invite us over for breakfast the next morning but he didn't bite. haha We also got to meet Mary Ellen! How cool is that? I watched him as he was running around before the play, and when he saw her at one point he stopped to talk to her and he gave her a kiss. I thought that was soooo sweet, and it rang so true of how he talks about her. They really have something special!
I need to blog about Boston and the cruise, but that will have to wait for now. I am off to walk some puppies! I like my job!!! I can't even imagine being able to say that sentence and mean it. It's wonderful.
Happy Monday peeps!!!
I'll let you know when Mary Ellen and I come to D.C. next year.
It was a REAL KICK finally meeting you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
