Friendly Day

Today was an interesting adventure. I went to some lumber place to get keys made. I of course got a bit lost, but eventually found it. I went in and asked the lady up front if they made keys, She responded "Back yonder". I was like oh dear - where am I??? This was no home depot - but that's exactly what I was trying to avoid. So I wandered to the back and a man greeted me and showed me the way to the keys. Then this lady approached me and said "My daughter just saw the same thing on me the other day after I had it on all day so I wanted to tell you now - the size sticker is still on your pants!" I was like "oh snap - can ya get it off?" She chuckled and said sure. I thanked her profusely and then the guy making the keys was like oh don't worry, that stuff happens. I was like yeah I'm not worried about it. It was funny. Then the dude made the keys and sent me on my way.

I went to the front of the store to pay and the lady was like wow, you are so nice! I was kinda taken aback cuz I didn't do anything outta the ordinary and she said it's just nice to have someone upbeat come through. I said "oh, yeah, I used to work retail and I know that customers can make or break your day!" We continued to have some small talk, then the dude behind me bought a snickers and said he hadn't tried that certain variety and hoped that it was worth breaking his diet. He then did a belly laugh and the lady at the counter (who must have known him) was like I didn't know you were ever on a diet (he wasn't not a small man, not huge at all but not skinny) and he laughed some more. It was an amusing trip.

Then I stopped at a Shell gas station. This older lady next to me pumping gas smiled at me and I was just like wow - what a friendly day! So then she asked me if I got the gas points from Giant (a local grocery store that has a gas promotion) and I said "Oh! Yeah I do! I didn't realize I was at a Shell!" She chuckled then asked me if I knew how to use it, and I didn't... so she went inside to get someone to explain it. Someone came back out with her and showed us. I am glad now know where to find a shell and how to use the bonus card to save money. haha

Good day thus far. I guess that helps make up for the terrible Packer loss last night. :0) Happy Tuesday peeps!

Just about the time I write off the human race, somebody goes and writes nice things about us! Guess it's time to "turn my frown upside down"! Thanks for the uplift. Neat!

It is so nice when people are sweet and upbeat. No one has to be a sour puss.

My goodness, it's as if you time warped over to Mississippi where according to Susil people are friendly like that. Congrats on the Friendly Day, it made me feel good just reading it. I can remember at least two times I forgot about the size sticker on my new jeans.

Apparently it's more common than one would think...
Yeah it was refreshing to have so much friendliness in one short afternoon. I liked it.

Hey John would that be "Price Chopper"?? I cashed my points in yesterday, I had $1.10 per gallon. Which made my $2.75 a gallon $1.65...which is so sweet

Well when you have 3 kids & a wife who expect 3 meals a day it adds up
reply by redwolftimes on Oct 1, 2010 6:21 AM ()
That's the one! You must shop there regularly. Unless they changed the rules, the credit is only good for 3 months. To get $1.10 off you had to spend $550!

That is nice... I need to start using mine!!!

We have a local grocery chain that does the gas deal too, but it doesn't pay to shop there just for the promo. They have stuff we need on sale sometimes so we manage to get 10 or 20 cents off per gallon (max 20 gallon which is no problem with a big truck). Keep smilin'!

hmmm I thought I left you a comment awhile ago - apparently I was mistaken! I need to start using mine - I shop there anyways so I need to start reaping the benefits!
