Can't Stop Winter!

The 60 degree days of last week are gone for good. :( It's been snowing again on and off for days and days, but that is the nature of lake-effect snow. Yesterday's high was 26 and today wasn't much better--a measly 28 even tho the sun was out for awhile. That's colder than the average for the middle of January. This is my black truck!

I got the hose defrosted this afternoon, but since we'll be taking the big guy out in the morning, there was no point in washing him today, because, guess what.... More snow in the forecast! It is really too soon for this. But Ok, enough of the rant, it doesn't do any good anyway.

The woodpile is now a manageable size! Half the load is cut and split and in storage for next year. What's left outside will replace what we're burning this winter. I'm on my second chain (I think my buddy is not quite the expert he thought he was) but the investment in hardware wasn't all that bad for the amount of wood I got!

You know that old expression "dumb bunny"? Is this the behavior that inspired it?

She's jammed between an open door and the wall. Why? Beats me!

Looks llke I'll be spending more time indoors from now on, and reading more blogs. I got almost everything finished outside that I planned to do, so winter can come (as if I could stop it. I hope you guys in the south enjoy cool days too. Word is that a slightly modified version of the weather we've been having is headed your way.

I love your photos (took a bit for them to load on dialup). Makes me feel like I'm there.

It's been warm and dry in Nevada and Colorado. Send some of that snow to us!

I'm sorry I don't see the black truck you speak of in the first pic
and that bunny is dumb

You CAN stop winter in California. It was about 80 degrees Fahrenheit today. You've done a lot of work in getting your wood stocked. You shouldn't say "dumb" bunny. Donna may read this.

The cold weather came to us last night after being preceded by a 78 degree day. The constant change gets to you.

We've already had snow and ice, enough to cause a few problems on the roads. I am certain there is much more to come, for you and for me!

Today our weather took a change. We've had nice autumn sun and cold nights. But, clouds moved in today and tomorrow is suppose to be even more cloudy with a chance of rain, possibly a few snow flakes. We've already had some snow this fall, but it has all been short lived. I'd just as soon see it snow now through January and then stop. We start calving in February and I need nice weather then.

It's freaking cold here. It already feels like January! We had snow flurries two nights ago, but nothing worth getting excited about. I usually don't start doing my snow dance until closer to Christmas, but I have a feeling that the white stuff isn't going to need my coaxing this year. What happened to autumn?

we had about 2-3 inches of white stuff here in West By God t'other day. Some of it still lingers and it's been colder than a well digger's nether regions. how far are you from Ra-cha-cha, John?
