Yesterday my mom and I went to Jefferson, WI and did some major shopping (only 4 hours) and had such a good time. We went to discount stores we don't normally get to go to when dad goes with us. I found a few gifts for my sister's birthday and mom and I got to have some nice long talks that I have been wanting to have with her.
We also got our lunch free at The Olive Garden. We sat and sat and sat. When we finally really started wondering if they forgot us, the waitress told us the kitchen lost our ticket. Then the manager came over and explained the situation and told us lunch was on them. (And I only ordered soup and salad) When they walked away, I joked with mom that I should have ordered more or something a bit more expensive.
Well anyway we had a great time. The only downfall was I lost my mom's favorite ring. She had given it to me to hold while she went to use the bathroom. What a disappointment!
I am so excited about what I got my sister for her birthday. I found a really good book entitled The Island by Victoria Hislop. Hopefully she can get into it - sounds interesting! The book came with a free $5 Itunes gift card.
I'm done registering for classes. I didn't have any problem with the online process, unlike many students who got up at 6 a.m. to register in person because they didn't trust online registering.
I got the classes I needed (except for one, but it can be taken in the summer via internet), so I'm pretty happy about that. My 2nd semester class schedule will be:
1. Introduction to Building Technologies
2. Introduction to Architecture Theory
3. Introduction to Architecture Drawing
4. Virtual Modeling (modeling, rendering and other digital methods used in Architecture design)
5. Creative Writing (elective)
*That's a total of 15 credits
I'm actually really looking forward to taking a non-Architecture course. The Creative Writing course will have a focus on short story fiction, and it's an online course, which is great! Also, no studio this semester! I need a break - that was so exhausting.
The new semester starts on January 16th - at first I was under the impression classes began earlier, but I was wrong. I'm not complaining though!
