Good Christsmas Eve, MyBloggersville:
Well, all is going fairly smoothly. Suffering and I are entertaining the babies while Jethrene works half a day. The slave driving bastids couldn't give that poor girl all of Christmas Eve off. Scrooge is alive and well it seems. Plans are to open gifts tonight and have the big dinner tommorow....two entres, ham and roast beast, along with all the traditional accrutiments. We'll all be getting stuck in doorways before the day is through.
The plane ride out was an experience. They switched airlines on me(I was 'asposed to fly US Air but it turned out to be United instead) What a friggin' cattle car. It must've been piloted by Orivile Wright originally.
Me: "This plane is kinda old huh?"
Seatmate: "Moo".
It was the most turbulent, boring flight I've ever been on. A number of times I saw my life flash before me and it induced drowsiness. There was this little kid in the seat in front of me. The kid's name was Andrew. I knew because his mother kept saying "Andrew, sit down...Andrew don't touch that.." etc. The little monster kept pulling down the shade panel over the window so I couldn't see out without turning all the way 'round. I kept thinking, "lady, if you'd kept yer legs together about 3 years and nine months ago, I would be having a more enjoyable flight" The flight was about four hours...we were delayed about an hour prior to take off whilst they de-iced the plane. Thank goodness. Afte a somewhat bumpy landing I touched down in Denver. That's an interesting airport. You have to take a tram to the terminal from where the planes actually land to meet yer parties. And its huge. Luckily they have these moving walkways for those of us who are lame...and can't walk well, either..har har. Lulubelle and Suffering were waiting and we drove the two hours from Denver to Cow Snot uneventfully. My first view of the Rockies, live and in person was a panoramic experience. I was quite blown away. Suffering and Lulubelle just rolled their eyes and yawned. "Tourist", they muttered derisivly.
It took a few days to get over the jet lag and of course I got a head cold right off the bat. I blame Andrew. He was coughing the whole trip. It's quite cold here and the wind blows something fierce. A lot like the Flower City by the Lake...only without as much snow. I'm slowly but surely learning my way around. I've gotten a bank, changed my driver's license, and procured a doctor's appointment along with various other chores so I'm just waiting for the headcold to go away.
Well, I do hope everyone has a very merry Christmas/Hanika/ Ramadan/Kwanza and a prosperous New Year. I'll write more when I can.
