Good Evening, MyBloggerstown:
Well, I guess "Obama got Osama". I'm just as happy as anyone. One less crazy bastid in the world. Its all over the news and all the talking heads are analysing every utterance from the White House and others with any remote connection to the event. I, and my tin foil hat wearing bretheren, have a few issues with the whole bid'ness. The speed at which they disposed of the body, no pics, stories that keep changing. I guess I could live without gruesome , lurid pictures splashed all over the media. There is bound to be a leak, though. Some greedy, low level flunkie will want his/her/its 15 minutes in the limelight and sell them to some unscrupulous rag. Then we'll be looking square at them as we stand in line at Wally World waiting to purchase our tube socks, dentu-cream and Preparation H. That's the kinda world we live in. All the media is talking about is bin Ladin this and that. All the attention is going toward this. One can't help but wonder what the gub'ment is up to while the media's back is turned. Hmm? Just some points to ponder.
Still.....on the night it was annouced that bin Laden had been killed, on the tube they replayed the President's news conference alongside the crowd at Ground Zero singing the national anthem. I got something in my eye that time, I wanna tell you. And I couldn't help but feel some pride in my country and in my Commander in Chief. Not to mention those brave Navy Seals who pulled off the mission. America's finest.
Otherwise, on the home front, I am once again striken with a head cold/bronchitis. It's going around here at Shady Pines. We have three or four or our inmat...I mean residents in the hospital. Seems like the older we get the harder it is to shake off relatively minor ailments. This is the second or third bout with this I've had this year. If only the weather would get warm and stay that way. We live in hope.
That's about it. Have a good rest of the week, everyone.
