Well, Howdy, MyBloggerstown:
Yep, yer own Bugg is still alive and kicken here in the wilds of Cow Snot Wy. Things are pretty much the same here at the Shady Pines Senior Complex. The idiots above me moved out about a month ago and as of this writing, the apartment is vacant. I revel in the silence but I also shudder at the thought of what sort of creep is going to be installed there. We have been lucky so far...the latest internees have been mostly seniors with cats and not some crazed youthful drug addicts. I just know they're gonna slip some basket case up there who will raise hell 24/7 and make my life a living hell. My luck runs just like that.
Weather here has been mild for the most part; not a lot of snow. But the wind has been a biatch. Many days have found me fighting to keep afoot whilst out and about. Now as we know, I am a big girl (5'10 and mumblemumble pounds) so that's doin' some blowin'. Ah well. Natives to this region say this is nothing out of the ordinary and laugh at my eastern and southern weakness. Well, I double dog dare them to spend any time in the south in July when its hotter than Hell's doorknob and the humidity is a thousand percent. Let's see who the wimp is then, huh?
My own health remains about the same. Had a mamogram the other day and they want me to come back for a re-do. This has never happened before and I'm a trifle concerned. Most times these things are just machine or technician malfunctions, I am told. Like I need yet another worry.
The Redneckmobile is in the shop at last getting it's clutch done. I don't even want to think about how much it is costing but it needed replacement, according to several opinions. Now I wait for the next thing to fall off of it. But I 'aspose I should expect some things to go wrong. It is 12 years old after all and it has served me well up til now. I continue to hope that Publisher's Clearing House shows up with that big, cardboard check so mebee I can buy a Lex or a Benz.
I am making progress on my reading lists. I read the book version of "The Help" which was wonderful. Was a little dissapointed in the movie, but then movies are never as good as the books, are they? I'm working on "The Hound of the Baskervilles" and "Cannery Row" right now. I also an into a history volume that looks at the colonization of America from the Indians point of view. Fascinating, as our Vulcan pal would say.
The crazy season is upon us. By that I mean the election cycle has begun. I cannot believe there are people who are actually voting for and supporting that slime ball Gingrich. Radio talk show host and Bugg fave Don Imus has called Newty "skunk vomit". Skunk vomit everywhere is taking offense. In a marvelous country of 300 million people I find it hard to believe that a plastic phony (Romney) an immoral oportunist (Gingrich), a whiney, crazy space alien (Paul), a self rightious embecile (Santorum) and a spineless wimp (Obama) are the best we can come up with for the highest office in the land. It's just sad. I, for one, am tempted to pull up stakes and move to Madagascar. But it makes for good drama and high comedy. If only the stakes weren't so great and the issues so grave.
Well, guess that's about all for now, blog pals. I know its been awhile and I will make no promises. I think of you all often and treasure y'all more than you know. Have a good rest of the week, everyone
