Birds, Secrets, Talkers, Neighbors, Comments

Every
day when I come home from the breezeway, around 6-6:15, these 2 ring
neck doves are waiting by my door--who needs a partner?
LOL

********************************************************************

48
hours to go and the dawning of the age of "Aquarius" and "Good Morning
Sunshine" and then the ending love in with the cast and audience to "Let
The Sun Shine In". I understand this is a very interactive show with
the performers and audience. After I get up on stage---Allen get the
camera ready--they may want me to continue with the show for the rest of
the tour!

My 'hair' days

******************************************************************

Living
in government housing, owned by Westminster Ministries--take a look at
their web page--it is sort of where I grew up as a kid with a whole
spectrum of people" white, black, gay, straight, married, single,
Jewish, Catholic, republicans, democrats, Spanish, Irish, English,
German, etc. It is a good way for a kid to grow up, an adult to live and
seniors to spend the waning days. I think if more people were
surrounded by all kinds of people there would be less discrimination,
hate and fights among neighbors.

*****************************************************************

A
big deal was made of Bin Laden having porno when he died. I have known
spouses, partners, lovers, children to be surprised discovering
'secrets' upon the death of their loved, or not so loved, ones. If you
died now would people discover something about you they didn't know? The
only 'secret' I have are my written diaries--not that they would
embarrass me but they might embarrass people I have known over the years
if they are read by others so Allen and Gino know they are the first
things to go!

*****************************************************************

Am
I the only one who feels they are being condescended to when a blogger
says, "Thank you for stopping by" to a comment I left?  It almost sounds
to me like, "Get out of here--don't stop by again!" Okay, okay I can
now see I will see those 2 comments a lot more. LOL

In
life, and on blogs, there always seem to be people who have to get the
'last word', even in friendly situations almost as if they don't say the
last thing they have 'lost'. Sometimes I won 't leave a comment because
I know I will get an unnecessary comment back and it will go on unless I
stop it. It is almost like a thank you for a thank you for a thank you
for giving a gift.

Unless you change that avatar--how about Johnny Depp--I may not stop by!

what is that supposed to mean.Stopping by.See you are weird.
comment by fredo on May 31, 2011 8:11 AM ()
Martin, saying Thanks for stopping by is like saying to a friend who visits your home Thanks for stopping by. It's a common phrase we use in the South but it is an expression from the heart. To me it's like someone saying Ya'll come back to see me. I agree with Jerms; I am grateful a friend stopped by to read my post. Stop by anytime, you are always welcome to visit.
comment by gapeach on May 30, 2011 4:51 PM ()
I just 'sqaid' it to Fredo and it just seems cold :O) 10 years in Memphis I never heard "Thanks for stopping by" but I certainly heard "Y'awl come back soon you hear?"
reply by greatmartin on May 30, 2011 5:00 PM ()
well not sure if you are weird, but flaky. There is a difference in these words. So that you are getting weird all of the time. But that is fine.
I am weird all of the time and yes, flaky also
Oh!what the heck.I stopped by to read your blog.
comment by fredo on May 30, 2011 2:31 PM ()
Thank you for stopping by!

"The error of the past is the success and wisdom of the future:". If only it were true; but the human race seems determined to keep repeating the errors of the past over and over again. Boy, we are dumb!!
comment by redimpala on May 30, 2011 1:34 PM ()
We just don't learn from history do we?
reply by greatmartin on May 30, 2011 4:57 PM ()
You know, Martin, you're getting weirder all the time. And I haven't known you that long. Regarding diaries: I've read over mine and have actually "blacked over" some entries out of embarrassment--just for the reason you gave. What would my children think? But, you know, I WAS 21 at one time. I WAS (am) human. I guess I want a spotless legacy.
One last word: I read!!!!!!!!!!!!!
comment by solitaire on May 30, 2011 5:42 AM ()
Of course I am weird--I like weird people like you and me! I think that's the best part of being young--you don't even think of the legacy you might leave and you do wild, crazy and non-thought out things--that you want to erase from your history when you hit your 50s and 60s! And, of course, your legacy will be "He read!"
reply by greatmartin on May 30, 2011 7:32 AM ()
You shouldn't take it personally, and people do it to me sometimes. Speaking for myself, once in awhile I just run out of something to say in a comment or reply to a comment. I sit here and think about it . . . nothing comes. So finally I'll say 'thanks for stopping by,' or just do an emoticon. But that doesn't make you feel better about it, I know.
comment by troutbend on May 29, 2011 10:17 PM ()
I do the emoticon too but I would think (there I go again thinking--it always gets me in trouble!) people know I'm glad they stopped by to read my post so why so thank you as if it is something rare?
Something tells me I should edit the post and take that out!
reply by greatmartin on May 30, 2011 7:35 AM ()
Awww...now I'm the one who always says that and I certainly don't mean "Get out of here.....don't stop by again." I mean it just exactly as it sounds, "Thank you for stopping by." I'm grateful for the people who "stop by" to read something I write.
comment by jerms on May 29, 2011 8:19 PM ()
I don't know why--just ignore me--but it rubs me the wrong way!
