This must be one hungry coyote. He just appeared in my yard at 10:15 this morning.

I know you do all the normal stuff--keep your garbage in a coyote-proof can and all--but something has to be attracting him. Maybe your neighbors aren't as careful? Or maybe he was running away from something--had there been any great disturbance in your area that morning?
Either way, call DNR if he comes back. They're supposed to relocate "problem" animals, and if he's eating birdseed he probably qualifies. Or go through your county's animal control people--they won't touch him themselves, but they'll call DNR for you.
Disclaimer: years since my human lived in Georgia, and that wasn't in the northeast.
My Vet had his Sheltie and his cat eaten by coyotes during the day. They must be ravenous.
Hi peach; Thre isn't any animal control officers where I live, surrounded by woods, so if a critter like a coyote shows up the home owner has to deal with it. Something has to be done--there's a lot of these hungry coyotes out there, and I'm leery of them carrying rabies.
Yeesh! I can hear coyotes all the time where I live and that is kinda spooky enough. Did he leave on his own?
Thank you....I don't have the greatest camera so they are not as clear as I hoped.
It's unusual to see them during the day time, isn't it? We can hear them sometimes, but never see them.
wow..... great pics!
Maybe he just liked your yard? Thought it would be a cool place to hang out? No?
Those are great pictures. He must be hungry indeed. That's one way of keeping unwanted guests out of your yard, eh.
