My First Write Up

You all know that I don't just write about the good things in my life, I also tell about the bad things. I guess just to show how human I am also.
Yesterday at work I got my first write up. We have those coin star machines in our store. Well I had a ticket last week for one and I had never had one before, nor had I been trained in it. So I did what I thought I was supposed to. Wrong answer. lol So I was wrote up for it because it caused my drawer to appear shorted. It was no big deal to me. The asst manager explained if you get 4 write ups then you get coached. lol That is funny. The CSM who was also there said if I ever have a question to just page one of them. Riiiiight. Case in point happened right after that. I had a customer with a gift card. I could not get the gift card to swipe. So I had to enter the numbers on the card. Well when you do that it pages a CSM to come and override it. So the same CSM who talked to me about my write up was no where to be found. And she left her hand held unit on the podium. I ended up having to call the operator and have her paged. This particular CSM is not very easy to get a hold of and will pretty much ignore you. My customer was very nice, I apologized for it taking so long. And as he was leaving he said, honey its not your fault. So as long as my customers are happy with me, nothing else really matters.
I did some shopping last night. For makeup. Shocking! I don't normally wear makeup. One reason is because finding a foundation that actually matches your skin tone is not easy. Or it didn't use to be. Loreal has a great line of products and they have this little chart with the different shades of foundation. You hold it up to your wrist and whatever color disappears is your match! So I bought some. I used to wear makeup all the time. But being a busy mom I hadn't worn it much except on special occasions. Now I just need to start making myself some jewelry to wear, especially earrings!
I have a short shift today, 11-4. Good thing cuz I am already tired. Kota is doing very well in school. After all the changes he had to endure he is finally settling into the new routine of our life. He is not one for change, it affects him deeply. But things are on track now and he is doing great. We still have not made it to tae kwon do. Last night while shopping we ran into the owner's wife. She said she wondered if walmart ever lets me out. lol And she mentioned they miss us and our new belts are still waiting for us. Maybe we can go tonight. We need to get back in that routine as well!
ok, thats the update, boring as usual. Now I am going to make myself some bacon for breakfast!

How do you like your job. No offense, but I can not stand all day ringing people out. I bore to easily and need to be doing many tasks at once.

I've been written up once also. It's all part of learning the job, I guess! Hope you go to your class and get your new belts!

CSMs can definitely be a challenge if they don't make themselves readily availble. I am sorry that she did that to you.

Exactly. The cashiers (you) have to stand there with the customers until the CSM shows up. The customers aren't getting any more happy about it.

"We're not happy until you're not happy."

Written up hey? That's interesting it doesn't really matter until 4 of em... I am glad your customers were still happy with you...
That brings back memories of when I worked at Staples... or should I say nightmares...

Never boring, Mary! You sure are taking what sounds like a rotten situation with the CSM in stride. And I'm glad to read that you're starting to wear make up and jewelry, too. Feeling good about yourself and taking pride in your appearance will show not only on the outside, but on the inside, too.

That CSM situation makes it frustrating for you to actually need them for something
