I found out today just how rewarding doing a good job can be. I have tomorrow off for one thing. Being a fairly new cashier thats kind of wierd. Then on Black Friday I only work 4 hours. I thought all the cashiers worked 4 hour shifts. But then I found out some are working an 8 hour shift. My schedule for the next couple weeks is amazing. I even get off next thursday and friday!
Today was not nearly as crazy as I thought it would be. Although I did get tired of hearing Happy Thanksgiving. My customers were all really nice today, very relaxed it seemed. I had my first big Christmas purchase, almost $800! Another cashier came over to help me out.
I was being my usual goofy self, not really trying to. At one point CSM Henry came up and asked what I needed. I looked at him blankly. Turns out I had my light on flashing. He laughed so hard. I told him I was just testing him to see how fast he would respond. Another cashier got some laughs when I ran into the pole that was right in front of my lane. She seriously had tears running down her face, and I was not hurt. I am telling you, I get goofier the less sleep I have.
But I still enjoy my job, alot! Isn't that something?? I remember the holiday season in retail and how stressful it was to me. But now, it isn't! I just have fun, make people laugh and go home to sleep!
I am so thankful I am off tomorrow. We will be at hubby's sister house. She is cooking everything, did not us to bring anything! What a treat! It will be nice to hang out with my inlaws and just eat, drink and be merry!
I came home from work today and the house was spotless! Even some boxes I still had out were all put away. Stormy and Kota were very busy today! It was a shock to come home to! How blessed am I!
