Productive

I had off today but still managed to be productive. I cleaned more kitchen cabinets, put shelf liner in and washed and put away my new dishes. Things are really shaping up here.
then I took a break to go visit my sister in law. She is the one who took in Pepper the beagle and whitey the cat. I took a big bag of dog food and also a big bag of cat food. Her and her son have 2 dogs and I think like 8 cats. It was so good to see Pepper, she of course went nuts when she saw my car pull up! She is having a grand time. Her best buddy is Nya. Nya is half husky, half lab. She is the sweetest dog ever. Although she towers over Pepper they are the bestest of buds. When I sat down in the chair Pepper launched herself into my lap.
My sister in law is kind of in the same situation we were in. Although hers is not as dire... yet. So I am helping her out with what I can. Even if its only animal food on my payday, every little bit will help. Could you all keep her in your prayers? She has a beautiful piece of property with her home on it. She even has a pond on it.
A friend of mine recently sent me a present and her only condition was to pay it forward. Great advice! So that is what I am doing. And you know, its a great feeling to help other people. My help might not be much, but it just might be the saving grace of the week for someone. I am not tooting my own horn, just encouring everyone to pay it forward. These are rough times for so many families. Do whatever you can. Even if its only to send some baked goods, leave a $5 bill on their porch, or cut their grass. If we all pitch in to help our neighbors, what a world it would be.
Speaking of neighbors, I have not met any of mine yet. The people next door have an identical house to ours. They also have a fenced in yard. They have a dalmation and some kind of little yappy dog. hehehe Of course we are rarely home so not much chance of meeting the neighbors. Weekends I work when most people are doing yard work or whatever.
I went to the school earlier this week and got our address changed and Kota's bus route changed. Still waiting for a phone call from them to confirm what bus and what time it comes. How long does it take for goodness sake?? Its been 4 days! Guess I will have to call them Monday and ask what the deal is.
We are going by our old house tonight to get the rest of our stuff. We just haven't had any free nights for the past week! It will be sad to close the door for the final time. So many dreams when I bought that house. I bought it when I was still single but knew that the man I was seeing would eventually be my husband. All gone in a puff of smoke. But you can't look back, the past cannot be changed. That is why I look forward, focus on the here and now. We've been through alot of changes in the last couple months. But through it all hubby and I always had each other to lean on. The tough times did not affect our marriage. They made us stronger I do believe. We have been to hell and back and we are still standing!

So nice how well you are getting settled and organized. I'm sending good thoughts to your sister-in-law. So many people are struggling and trying to cope. I share many challenges on a small fixed income. Your expression about the value of people reaching out to help each other and "pay it forward" is sooooo important to actualize in all our lives!

P.S. Maybe I missed you mentioning this, but can't you have pets in your new home?

I'm glad you are in the house you are in right now. I don't know why God led you on this path, but I know that He knows. I don't know why he leads us on the paths we travel, but there has to be a reason. Meanwhile, just live one day at a time. That's what I do.

I always said being a stay-at-home Mom was one of the hardest jobs any woman could have. And when you work full time and still are a mom and wife - it can be super hard. Hang in there!!!! God Bless!!!!!

Glad everything is working out so well. I'm sorry to hear about your sister-in-laws situation. I like the 'pay it forward' idea. Think I will do that too.

moving is a pain. One good thing about renting as opposed to owning is that all the repairs(plumbing, roof, etc.) are the landlord's responsibility. There's an upside to just about ever' thing. glad you found a good home for Pepper and Whitey. And for all your misfortunes lately, you still think about others. It is an honor to know you, my friend

I just hate moving. It is hectic! My ex used to build houses and we would move in until they sold. I've moved more than I care to remember. I think I will live on this ranch until I die and then they can bury me here.

It will be really nice when you are finally settled. Also, nice to have a day off.

Love & hugs - Annie :o)

That is how you can tell that you have your soul mate! Our art teacher had on her classroom door--pay it forward. We need to do more of it, for sure. Years ago people were more willing to help their neighbors. What happened, Mary, to make us all go inward? Keep up the good work, girl!

You're a kind, generous person Mary. I've never heard of "pay it forward". I guess you can usually do what you want with presents you receive.
