Ahhhh Rest for the Weary

Here it is 10 in the morning and I am still in my jammies, drinking coffee and reading blogs. Nice! Kota is off school today as well. The only pressing thing I need to do today and call and make an appointment for a hair cut. I am seriously overdue. And the lady who does my hair came through my line at walmart the other day and commented how long my hair is. I told her it won't be once she cuts off all the dead ends!
We did some grocery shopping last night at Food Lion, I really did not want to go to walmart after working there all day. However, when we looked at the selection of meats we were soon disgusted. Most had a green tinge to them and some were brown. So I will have to venture out to walmart for our meats.
In regards to my post about the one cashier who bugs me, I have not talked to anyone about him. I am waiting until I work with him again, and talk to him directly. If that doesn't work then I will go to a CSM.
For the next two weeks I actually get two days in a row off! That will be really nice and should recharge me. These crazy shifts I work are starting to wear on me.
It was unbelievably busy yesterday at walmart. I guess everyone had got their food stamps. And I was amazed at the cart loads of food. Then I remembered, this is probably their food for a month. I don't know if I could shop like that! For a whole month! I have a hard enough time shopping for a week!
I had an older gentleman buying alot of frozen dinners. He commented that he is the king of the microwave. He then explained since his wife passed on, he does not do any cooking. I almost teared up right there. He had some good breakfast foods and I told him to let me know what time to be at his house for breakfast.
Well time for more lazing around.

glad you got some time off...ya deserve it, kiddo. I've heard stories about Food Lion and I think there was an investigative report about their meat practices. To tell the truth though, I don't buy meat at Wally World either. There are a couple of Kroger's here that have ok meat.

Peoples shopping habits are one thing that was inprinted on my brain when I was working on the tills. Some of the things people buy are weird. I'm sure you can tell what kind of person your dealing with buy just eyeballing whats in their cart lol. The other day I saw my hubby doctor out shopping, she was at the tills before us, all she bought was chocolate biscuits and wine!!!lots of wine. I was shaking my head wondering what were the chocolate biscuits for lol.
I still to this day nose in other peoples carts Enjoy your 2 days off

Gosh, that is pretty sad when you see the unfortunate circumstances in other people's lives. Count your blessings... and enjoy your time off!

Have a wonderful lazing day, Mary. You certainly deserve it.I worked as a cashier for about five years at a grocery store whose customers were comprised of mostly elderly folk. And I got teary eyed, just like you, on more than one occasion...especially a gentleman whose Christmas dinner was a frozen TV dinner. Then he told me not to worry about him because he was just going to remember all of the wonderful Christmas dinners he had enjoyed in his life while he ate. It only made me feel mildly better...
