So much that is bad is written about the V. A. medical system that I feel compelled to tell you about our good experience yesterday. Ted's doctor is a very small man from India. When he shook hands with me, his hand was smaller than mine. He is also very young and handsome. Right off the bat, he ordered an MRI, an echocardiagram plus
a halter monitor, an ultra sound of Ted's carotid arteries
and a battery of lab tests. I could tell that he suspects that this may be a prelude to a stroke because he did all
the neurological things and then told me if Ted's speech slurred or he had any more muscular problems to call 911
and get him to the emergency room. I am much more at ease
because he has got it all covered. We will be trekking back
and forth to the hospital a lot but it is only l5 minutes
away.
We saw a World War II veteran yesterday. He must have been
at least 90 but was still spunky and talkative. It really hurts to see the men back from Iraq. Most of them have
terrible head injuries.
On a happier note, there is a star trek convention in Tulsa
next weekend. Bobby and Adrienne are ardent trekkies so
they plan to go. They need the time together.
