Weddings and Elephants

I loved the small part of the wedding that I saw. Princess
Kate was lovely and her fashion sense infallible. The dress
was the prettiest wedding dress that I have ever seen. Unfortunately the Prince is balding and that is not my favorite look. I thought the celebrations were so cute in
Kate's home town and the sunglasses with the Union Jack on
the lenses were the ultimate.

Our baby elephant is coming along nicely. The Zoo director
says that to keep the population where it should be, we need
to have 6 babies a year and currently we have only three in
the United States.

The baby is as yet unnamed but she is nursing and spends most of her time underneath her mother. The zoo personnel
have taught her to come to them for a snack of coconut milk.
She won't have other food introduced until she is 3 months
old. Mother's milk is her diet for now.

Her aunt Chandra was a little skittish at first but she now
lets the baby walk under her. When the zoo personnel go home, Chandra is put in a pen away from mother and child.
You can bet no one is taking any chances!

Stephy, Trump is a scumbag and there are a lot of his business deals where
he took bankruptcy or left someone holding the bag. His hair is awful. I
would rather see an honest bald head too.

I would like to see Wills get a toupee before he gets any balder. He's so good-looking, except for that one inherited gene. But, he's got his Kate. If she doesn't care, that's all that matter.

Prince William is good looking all the same and I am sure his Princess
loves him.

Yeah. The prince/bridegroom can go see the guy who makes toupees for Donald Trump. I think an honest bald head beats the heck out of a bad toupee. if Trump will lie about having hair, what else will he lie about?

We all love fairy tales (well, maybe not Martin). I would have thought perhaps "makeup" could have done something with Will's hair, maybe spray on a "filler" or enhancer, or whatever they do to make it appear thicker. If Trump can do it......

It was such a nice break for us to see something like a fairy tale come
true.

The horse drawn open carriage was delightful. They looked so in love and
they have known each other long enough to stay that way.

The wedding was perfection! I'm counting on these two to be well-grounded so in a couple of years we're not hearing something like 'she wasn't prepared for the pressures of being royalty.'

I agree totally. I just didn't get to see enough of it. I love the pomp
and ceremony.

I thought the royal wedding was beautifully done. Don't blame the couple for the media hype. Kate's sister was also stunning. I like high fashion. I don't mind royalty. I don't care for the way the royals have generally behaved. Perhaps this new generation will show some class. Meanwhile, I saw and heard nothing about Charles and Camilla. That is very odd. Wasn't the groom's father there? Was it agreed there would be no media coverage lest people start thinking about Diana?

I saw both Charles and Camilla. I trust that they are happy at last. Some
of the hats were outrageous on the visiting royalty from other countries.
I didn't see Prince Phillip but the queen Mum was dressed in yellow from
head to toe.

I know what you mean, Teal. They didn't make a big deal about Charles and Camilla (who looked stout in those inverted box pleats). I was surprised that there was no comment about Princess Anne being there. I saw her in the second row with her husband. I was watching the BBC version, and it was very civilized and polite.

I did not get up to watch the wedding. I assumed it would be in the news all day. It even supplanted most of the coverage of the tornadoes in the south. Good news about your baby elephant. I will have to Google it. Baby animals are so very endearing.

I just saw snatches of the wedding but I loved what I saw. The tornados
were horrible and there were so many mobile homes. That is the worse place
to be in a bad storm. We had an F5 several years ago that swept through
Moore and parts of Oklahoma City.

I didn't know that about elephants. That's in captivity? And I did see some of the wedding... her dress was VERY pretty and she looked fantastic!

Yes, six babies in captivity. Chandra will probably have a date soon. She
didn't get pregnant the last time she visited Tulsa's male elephant. The
baby loves his baths. Devon Energy has donated tons of money for the zoo and the elephants have a state of the art barn and lots of space to roam.

I loved the wedding. Kate looked like a dream, so lovely! It was a delight to see, so British and rich in tradition, yet uniquely what Will and Kate wished. The music and thoughts of Diana brought me to tears. I wish them all the love and happiness in the world.

Blessings and love to your little elephant! They are so precious, and the little one seems to be thriving. Hooray! Love the news updates....
