This is an eventful day for the survivors of 911 and their
families and for all Americans everywhere. I feel a mixture of sadness for all the lives Osama Bin Laden destroyed and gladness that he is dead and can never prevert
and distort Muslim thinking again.
As I watched Meet The Press yesterday and all the talk of
the deficit, I wondered why no one mentioned the war of
l0 years that was started on Dubya's whim and that has
bankrupted us. I know that we must have a strong military
but we don't have to deploy it all over the world. I feel
so sorry for the members of the Reserve and the National
Guard that have sustained such awful wounds as well as
financial disasters and lonliness and anxiety to their
family members. Think of the lives that have been lost
and the desolation their families are enduring. The war
was founded on a lie...weapons of mass destruction.
I love my country and our American spirit but I think we
need to all be firm and vote our convictions. Think of
the hunger and sickness that could be alleviated if we didn't have to patrol the world.
